Cadets develop essential life skills like teamwork, confidence and resilience which can help them thrive in school and work
Great to raise the amazing work of local Cadets in Bracknell in Parliament today
British Medical Auctions are a shining example of local innovation and efficiency - they reduce waste in the NHS through second-hand medical equipment sales
Thanks to the team for showing me around their Bracknell warehouse!
Great to catch up with the team at Bracknell Job Centre to hear about their work supporting young people into employment and training
📆 Weekly Update 10-16 October 📆
Welcoming local groups to Parliament and speaking up about the EU and AI
I welcome that the PM is being honest about the damage Brexit has done & the need to break through the status quo
Ahead of the next UK-EU Summit in November, I've urged him to be as pragmatic as possible to secure a closer relationship with Europe in Britain's national interest

A good meeting with UK Prime Minister @AndyBurnham in London. We value our partnership and continue working together for security.
I briefed Andy in detail on Russian attacks against our cities, our people, and critical infrastructure. Wave after wave of drone attacks throughout the day and night today. Russia launched 124 drones overnight alone, and another 145 during the day. And right now, there are still more than 40 “shaheds” in our skies. They attack energy infrastructure, logistics, and railways. We managed to shoot down a significant number of the drones, but some got through. In terms of scale, this is one of the largest attacks. It is clear that the Russians are trying to take advantage of the problems with Starlink in Ukraine, as our interceptor drones depend on this connection among other things.
That is why it is especially important right now to strengthen our air defenses and provide Ukraine with everything it needs to protect lives. Today, a decision was made to accelerate deliveries of British-made air defense systems to Ukraine to counter jet-powered “shaheds.” And I am very grateful for this timely and much-needed assistance. I thank Andy, the people of the United Kingdom, the government, and His Majesty for their solidarity and support for our country during this brutal Russian war.
It's Community Transport Week and to celebrate, I joined Sandhurst Day Centre for a ride-along in their minibus
The Day Centre offers fantastic support for older residents, and the minibus service makes it all possible
Those affected by the Troubles deserve answers
But we must be clear that there is no equivalence between the lawful actions of our brave service personnel who served in Northern Ireland, and terrorists
The Tories' discredited Legacy Act created that equivalence by offering a blanket immunity to everyone - including members of the IRA
Come and visit Parliament!
Parliament is back from the conference break today and I started my morning welcoming another local group to visit the Palace of Westminster
Thank you U3A, Youthline, Samaritans, Promise Inclusion and The Wayz for joining me over the last few months
If you'd like to come to Parliament for a (free!) tour, get in touch with me at [email protected] or call 01344 918198 to find out more
Share helps over 2,000 people in need each week to access fresh food that would otherwise have gone to waste
No referral needed - just incredible volunteers getting spare food to people it can really help
I joined them at their Priestwood site, which runs every Friday - they also run in Great Hollands on Saturdays

📆 Weekly Update 3-9 October 📆
Celebrating National Cadets Week and running one of my community litter picks - here's an overview of my week!
It's the first ever National Cadets Week - an opportunity to recognise the incredible opportunities the Cadets offer to young people, and the amazing adult volunteers that make it all happen
I joined Bracknell Army Cadets and Air Cadets to celebrate
The Cadets are always looking for more adult volunteers - no Armed Forces experience required
You can find more information about what it involves here: buff.ly/IjzhT56
I recently joined local postie Spencer on his round in Crowthorne to learn more about his work and how recent changes to deliveries are affecting him and the service customers are getting
The Royal Mail is not delivering for residents at the moment, despite repeated promises from company bosses that things will improve. Today's news on jobs cuts - while it won't affect front-line posties - is not reassuring
