Please meet Rena, she is an 8-year-old German shepherd bitch. Rena has worked for 6 years as an HMP General Perpose patrol dog. Rena has lots of energy and drive, she likes to play with her ball or kong. Rena really likes long walks; she loves to run and does not have any medical problems. Rena is defensive on the lead, which means she will be better suited to a family who understands the breed. Rena is very loving and sociable at home with her family. She likes cuddles and is very affectionate. Rena is an independent dog. She currently lives in her kennel. However, her handler is integrating her into a home living environment. Her handler currently recommends she is crated during the night and while left alone for short periods in the house. Over time, Rena will adapt with consistency and boundaries. Rena is good with some dogs and not with others, so gradual controlled introductions are advised. Again, this is why Rena would be better suited to someone who understands the breed and dog behaviour. Rena currently lives with a pet yorkie, and she is totally fine. This was a gradual introduction, and she is now accepting. A home without cats is recommended. Rena travels well, and a dog create is advised for safety in a boot. Secondary school children would be advised. Let’s get Rena a loving retirement home.
