Illinois SROs, you've got a great training opportunity this summer! You may even recognize a familiar face, as NASRO's Executive Director Mo Canady will be a keynote presenter! You can find more information about ILSROA's conference and register here: ilsroa.com/conference-inform…

Children should have a trusted adult in their life to speak with. Unfortunately, they may not always have a trusted adult at home. This is where school officials, teachers, and school resource officers can step in to be that trusted adult.

NASRO Executive Director Mo Canady spent the first part of this week in Washington D.C., meeting with the new director of the @COPSOffice, Hugh T. Clements. Discussions included several issues around SRO Training and our new COPS-funded training, Project Unite.

Is there a difference between a school resource officer and a regular law enforcement officer? Yes! In addition to being a sworn law enforcement officer, school resource officers should be carefully selected, specifically trained, and properly equipped. #SROsAreValuable
