💙 Today is National Child Health Day!
Every child deserves a healthy start and the opportunity to thrive. That means access to quality health care, perinatal health services, health coverage, immunizations, early intervention, behavioral health supports and the resources families need.
Investing in children’s health is an investment in Pennsylvania’s future.

October is National Children’s Health Month! 💙
Every child deserves a healthy start and the opportunity to thrive. That means access to perinatal health care, health coverage, vaccinations, early intervention and the resources families need from the very beginning.

💙 As Kinship Care Month comes to a close, we’re highlighting why kinship care matters.
📊 Research is clear: when children can’t stay with their parents, they do best with kin.
Kinship families can provide stability, cultural identity, resilient mental health & behavioral outcomes, and community connections.

🎓 Every student’s path after high school looks different. Career and technical education gives Pennsylvania students opportunities to explore their interests, build skills and prepare for the future.
We’re encouraged by continued investment in CTE and support for efforts to expand these opportunities for PA students. 💙

The “right path” is different for every kid.
That’s why we’re investing in career and technical education — like the culinary arts and the trades here in Pennsylvania. Our latest state budget increases funding for these initiatives by another $10 million, so more kids can pursue the career of their choosing and chase their dreams.
💙 We’re proud to honor Lt. Gov. Austin Davis and Second Lady Blayre Holmes Davis with PPC’s Be Someone for Kids Award for their commitment to PA’s children and families.
Thank you for your partnership and for recognizing the importance of child care and after-school opportunities for kids across PA.

For working parents, child care is always top of mind. And as our children grow up, having safe places to go after school or during summer break is just as important. Through my office, Pennsylvania has brought state investments back to our after school programs and our early child care providers so that kids have the enrichment opportunities they need for success.
I was honored to receive PA Partnerships for Children’s Be Someone for Kids Award on behalf of both myself and Second Lady Blayre Holmes Davis. It is through the hard work of our strongest advocates and partners that we can make real change and improve the lives of our youngest Pennsylvanians.

👵🏽👨🏿🦱 Did you know more than 2M grandparents are raising their grandkids?
These kin caregivers keep children safe and loved—but often lack support, despite having needs of their own.
We’re committed to listening to and standing with kin caregivers. 💜 #KinshipCareMonth #Grandfamilies
💙 SNAP is about more than putting food on the table.
For children, consistent access to nutritious food supports healthy development, learning & overall well-being.
SNAP helps families afford groceries when budgets are stretched, giving kids a stronger foundation to grow, learn & thrive.

💙 Kinship caregivers step up when children and families need them most.
During National Kinship Month, we’re recognizing the grandparents, relatives, siblings, family friends and other caring adults who open their homes and take on parenting responsibilities when a child cannot safely remain with their parents.
Kinship caregivers deserve support, too. PA families can find resources through @KinConnector: kinconnector.org/

💙 September is #HungerActionMonth.
For Pennsylvania’s children, access to nutritious food is foundational to their health, development & ability to learn and thrive.
SNAP matters for children. It helps eligible families afford groceries and provides an important source of food support for kids across PA.
This month, let’s take action to ensure families can access the food resources they need.

💙 September is #KinshipCareMonth in Pennsylvania!
We’re grateful to @GovernorShapiro for recognizing the grandparents, relatives, close family friends and other caregivers who step up when children cannot safely remain with their parents.
Kinship caregivers help children maintain family connections, preserve stability and stay connected to their communities. But taking on parenting responsibilities can also bring significant financial, legal, emotional and practical challenges.
Pennsylvania must continue strengthening the resources and supports available to kinship families, so caregivers have what they need and every child has the opportunity to grow up safe, stable and supported.
Thank you to the kinship caregivers across our Commonwealth who step up for Pennsylvania’s children every day. 💙

With measles cases at their highest levels in more than 3 decades, the back-to-school season is an important time to make sure PA children are up to date on recommended immunizations.
PPC President & CEO Kari King told @PNS_News that PA's kindergarten MMR vaccination rate is 93.2%, below the 95% community protection goal.
PPC also recently joined 200+ organizations urging the federal government to maintain evidence-based childhood vaccine recommendations.
