These new UniFi Industrial Cloud Gateways are so nice. Ruggedized, fanless, 5x PoE ports, and local NVR. Ubiquiti is the Apple of networking.
This one is going into my family adventure van build. It runs on 48v, which conveniently matches my van’s LiFePO4 battery architecture.
UniFi + Starlink = living in the future!

I overwrote my keyboard's firmware so that it runs a tiny character-level language model to predict the next key you'll hit. It has per-key backlight LEDs and just lights up the ones you're likely to hit. All inference local on the microprocessor - works without the computer too!
Today's the day
ChatGPT-6 Astra will release. The most powerful AI model ever made, with enough usage to do what you want
Days like this don’t happen often. It’s absolutely critical you lock in:
1. Test these models the moment they drop
2. Audit all of your personal operating systems. Put your Grok Bot/Hermes/ business/ career other operating systems through it to see what it thinks
3. If you don’t have your own personal benchmark tests based on your every day workflows and tasks, build them now (will open source mine soon)
4. Put these new models on your latest projects. See how they hold up against what you were doing before
5. Plug them into your Hermes/OpenClaw. Measure cost per task vs speed
6. Have these newer models review your code built by older models. Find security gaps/optimization opportunities the less intelligent models couldn’t find before
99.99% of the world won’t even know what’s happening today. You’re going to be the .01% that jumps on this and attacks
Lock in.
need, this would make me feel like a micro-welder
One-handed USB-C soldering iron with an integrated motorised solder feeder.
cnx-software.com/2026/08/28/…
Spark Solder soldering iron supports standard TS100 tips, delivers up to 45W of heating power, and features a 1-inch LCD for adjusting the temperature and solder feed speed.
While soldering irons with integrated isolder feeders are nothing new, the Spark Solder is more compact than competitors and supports modern features like USB-C power (instead of AC) and MCU-controlled temperature and speed.
FRAGO: After an intense and rewarding couple of years with @BoozAllen's Integrated Cyber team, securing and defending operational technology systems for the @DeptofWar, I am shifting missions.
Every engagement was unique, from incident response tabletops and zero trust assessments, to OT purple team exercises, engineering greenfield control systems, and building AI-enabled OT solutions with some of the best experts in the industry. From maritime environments to Low Earth Orbit, the federal OT cyber team at Booz Allen is doing extraordinary work, and I'll miss my exceptionally talented colleagues, clients, and partners.
Now, I'm thrilled to join the team at Frenos (frenos.io) as a Research and Development Lead, helping advance the frontier of OT cybersecurity. As a former oil & gas asset owner, criminal investigator, and OT cyber engineer of ~8 years, I know it's imperative that OT programs adapt to the reality of today's cyber offense and defense. I've spent much of my cyber career in R&D, both commercial and .mil contexts, and it's clear that AI is forcing us to move past legacy security approaches, and define the next generation of OT security visibility, detection, response, and recovery.
The Frenos team, technology, and mission are remarkable. Frenos is leading the industry into a new era of simulated OT pen testing and AI-enabled security posture management. I thank God for the opportunity to advance the safety and resilience of the world's most important systems.

Someone 'accused' me of vibe coding the LFRR simulator.
I've been coding since 1982, I've hand assembled machine code, injected fixes into running processes, worked on software that's made it to Mars and worked as a software developer for decades.
OF COURSE I USED AI CODE TOOLS
Always love it when companies go the extra mile for good packaging. This is an @owlcyberdefense data diode 😎👍
Good model name
anoooother one!
Introducing ⭐Grug-30b-a3b!⭐
Grug is an open-source experimental model build on top of Qwen-3.6-30b-a3b. Designed to replicate the efficiency of GPT-5.5 by cutting down thinking into only-necessary chunks.
Grug outputs on average ~69.8% less thinking tokens, while preforming within a ~2% total margin of base Qwen-3.6
This lead to significantly faster generation and less context filling, leading to exponential decreases in generation speed.
