Sanctions relief will continue. I think the diesel deal and the move regarding the Lindsey Graham Act are not the end of it. Unfortunately.
It’s unfortunate because we all had great respect for Lindsey. He devoted his life to America. We had an excellent relationship with him. And shortly before the tragedy, Lindsey was in Ukraine. He always supported us very strongly and pushed for as much assistance to Ukraine as possible.
It’s difficult without him, I’ll be honest. I want to thank both Democrats and Republicans who supported his bill. That was a major victory: this truly bipartisan support. And now, the decision to undo all of this, to block all of it, seems wrong to me. And it definitely helps only the Russians. It only fuels their satisfaction and their desire to keep killing people. This certainly does not stop the war.

Trump has repeatedly betrayed our Ukrainian allies in recent days. First, he announced a shocking deal with Putin to allow millions of barrels of diesel onto global markets—a move that will inject cash directly into the Russian war machine. Then, he launched a concerted smear campaign against President Zelenskyy, claiming that Putin is "easier to deal with."
The betrayals escalated when Washington failed to provide its customary early warning to Kyiv regarding an imminent Russian ballistic missile attack. Now, it appears the White House has ordered a temporary suspension of Starshield—a military version of Elon Musk’s Starlink, upon which the Ukrainian armed forces rely.
"The throttling of Starlink/Starshield and the inexplicable failure to provide advance warning of Russian missile launches have already led to the needless deaths of Ukrainian civilians," Branson wrote. "How much worse can it get?" "If one thing is clear, it’s that European leaders must move past the initial shock of Trump’s recent actions and step up. This is as much about European freedom as it is about Ukraine’s sovereignty. Both are worth fighting for," he continued. "Every option should now be on the table—from transferring frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, to delivering advanced weapons systems like the German Taurus."
"Why, oh why, is this happening? We cannot allow the free world to be dismantled before our very eyes," Branson concluded.
We couldn’t agree more. Trump is an enemy of Ukraine, an enemy of democracy, and an enemy of the American people. When the Democrats regain power, we will have a major task ahead of us. Every trace of this monstrous man’s legacy must be erased.

Latvia has raised similar concerns, warning that a possible operation could involve Russian special forces. The warnings point to growing concern across the Baltic region over unconventional Russian activity beyond the battlefield in Ukraine.
Such an operation could be designed to obscure attribution and create confusion over who was responsible, making rapid coordination and intelligence-sharing among European states especially important.

Putin's aide Patrushev said that the United States can influence Ukraine in peace negotiations, while claiming that Europe does not want peace.

In reality, the only country that does not want peace is the country that started and continues to wage this war of aggression - Russia.
The only country that must be pressured to stop the war is Russia.
The United States and the EU are Ukraine’s allies.
Just a couple of months ago, there was a sense that Russian elites - business, government and security forces - were beginning to grow disillusioned with Putin, due to his inefficiency and their own sense of insecurity and vulnerability, and would want to remove him from power.
But Putin clearly sensed these sentiments, eased the "repression" against "his own," and created opportunities for new profits as the Russian economy shifted to a war footing, with the redistribution of property and money and a new wave of "nationalization."
As a result, the Russian elite now sees opportunities for new profits, as well as the prospect of sanctions being lifted and new business projects.
Under these conditions, anti-war sentiment among Russia’s ruling elite has receded, and they are ready to continue the war.

Acting on my instructions, on Tuesday the relevant official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the Russian ambassador to Hungary that, according to the assessment of the Hungarian authorities, 10 members of the Russian mission had engaged in activities in Hungary that are unacceptable for diplomats under the Vienna Convention. The Hungarian side has therefore called on the individuals in question to leave Hungary. This decision protects Hungary’s security and sovereignty. It does not imply breaking off diplomatic relations with Russia. Hungary intends to continue the necessary dialogue, based on mutual respect and adherence to the rules.

European officials argue that if Trump insists Europe should pay for the aid Biden sent to Ukraine, then the U.S. should first compensate its allies for the enormous sacrifices they made after 9/11 — including billions spent on equipment and the lives lost in joint operations.
Except none of this is true.
Because no sane leader would ever make such a demand — just like no sane leader would ask Europe to “repay” the weapons the U.S. voluntarily donated to Ukraine.
