In order for 20 market makers to reliably quote JUST the S&P500 members at 10 quotes per second, the chain needs to support 100k oracle updates per second.
with the fd runtime, oracle updates execute with a mode of about 15 micros (load, execute, commit). verifying these signatures cost approximately 19 micros — more than the time it takes to execute — until now!!!
this optimization is a HUGE step toward making Solana the house of all finance.

Right now, it's clear that Solana is the most dominant smart contact platform and it's dominance will only keep rising from here. $SOL as an asset is also the most value accruing digital asset today and this value capture will also keep rising. A look at the data -
Exhibit 1: $SOL surpassed $ETH + all L2s combined in total economic value captured (fees + MEV). L2s generated only $2.5 million in fees last week.
Exhibit 2: Solana generated more transaction fee revenue than, Ethereum L1, Arbitrum or Base even if you don't include MEV and tips.
Exhibit 3 & 4: Solana consistently does more TPS than Eth+ all eth L2s combined. (Even while these L2s have single sequencers and several other centralisation/censorship vectors)
Exhibit 5 & 6 : All this while Solana is extremely decentralised - 4500 full nodes, 1500 validators, widely distributed across the globe
