I was swapping out a tubular lock on a machine. Here I’m thinking 5min tops. Took me 3-4 times as long. Went through every permutation possible (more than you'd think) Gah! Stupid? or impatient?

Gustav Häkansson, nicknamed "Stilfarfar" ("Steel Grandpa"), was a Swedish cyclist who became a legend for his grit and stamina in his 70s. In 1951, at 66, he was denied entry to the Sverige-loppet, a tough 1,000-mile bike race from Haparanda to Ystad, because he was over the 40-year age limit. Unfazed, he rode the race anyway on his old bike, sporting a homemade bib with a red zero. Starting a minute after the last official rider, he biked without support, sometimes going three days without sleep. He finished first in 6 days, 14 hours, and 20 minutes—24 hours ahead of the official racers. Häkansson lived to 101, passing away in 1987.

Storytime: This story's from a while back. I’ve always wanted to take a ride on the @GoodyearBlimp (actually, any blimp would make me happy). So i looked into it. i found out it’s impossible to get a ride unless you're VIP or special needs. Welllll, it just happens that my wife was a Special Ed teacher at the time.💡 I tried convincing her that it would be an awesome field trip. I’d do EVERYTHING. All the organizing, drive the bus,… whatever it took. I’d just need to be a chaperone too :) It never happened.🙁 I’m obviously a really bad salesman; couldn’t even sell my wife on an awesome idea.

I have my own variation on the memory palace. Whenever I forget something, I go back to where i thought it and I tend to remember it. Walk right through the thoughtcloud and poof, it's back where it belongs.
