At least now that there is increased awareness, the hope is organisations will strictly implement zero tolerance policies and address POSH as an immediate concern.

Due to this, we see that a lot of POSH initiatives remain ineffective and the issue is addressed only on a surface level.

Unfortunately, many schools and higher education institutes do not focus on teaching students about consent and boundaries or completely skip sex ed as a topic. That leaves us with adults who enter the workforce without the knowledge of these very fundamental concepts.

Many organisations conduct POSH awareness sessions/have e-learning modules in place. However, a lot of the times these remain ineffective and the reason for that is simple- the concept of consent in its true sense is unclear or remains ambiguous even after these initiatives.

For POSH initiatives to be effective and truly make a difference, it is necessary that the content creates psycho-education, addresses the basics, creates sensitisation along with awareness and leaves the participants with something to think about.
