So I’m finally reading The Blue Castle for the first time and I have the highest of expectations. Don’t do me dirty, Lucy Maud.

I actually feel really sad that The Body Shop is closing. I wasn't a regular customer, but an old friend is; and going there for some new little soaps/lotions was such a treat for her when she has a lot to struggle with in her life. It's going to leave an empty space, for her.

Whenever a Round Table vote is descending into horrific chaos for the Faithful, mute it and play ABBA's 'Mamma Mia' over the entire scene, instead. You're welcome. #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK #TheTraitorsUS #TheTraitorsCanada #TheTraitorsNZ #TheTraitorsAU #TheTraitorsUncloaked

It’s fine to be a little Pollyanna, actually, okay? Do you know how HARD it is to actually give the majority of your focus purely to what is good, without reserve or kneejerk cynicism? I struggle every day to open my heart to positive possibilities.

The most doggedly positive people seem like they are standing out there in Everything, covered in cuts and bruises, & SOMEHOW STILL NOT FLINCHING. I am in awe of those people. It takes such effort for me to let go enough of my fear & anger to just appreciate what is still good.

Feels a bit odd to be starting fresh on a new social media app but anyway I’m on bluesky now! OtherPens handle remained unspoken for. :)

I thought I wasn't a person who enjoyed watching reality TV...but then they invented 'Celebrities Dramatically Committing Emotional Crimes Against Each Other For Money While Cosplaying Agatha Christie Novels' and it turns out THAT is my niche. youtu.be/iwCCPWdNC9U?si=DqSU…

Oh. So they just cast a 35 year-old to play Josephine, who was eight years older than her husband, who is played by a 49 year-old man. And they had been going to cast a 30 year-old. I see.

There's a point to be made about the vital use of visual metaphor shorthand in cinematic adaptation, but being broadly "like, whatever," about history is maybe not the way to phrase it?

You CAN set an alarm on your phone to remind you that your hot drink will have cooled down enough to enjoy by now. I *just realized* I could do this, and it's not weird. Don't live any more of your life NOT doing this! Winter is upon us! You have less time than you think! ☕🍵🫖

15 minutes was just about perfect for me for a fresh-made coffee poured into a room temperature ceramic mug, but 10 might be your sweet-spot for barely-cool-enough-to-not-hurt.

Try putting some tapenade on a piece of crusty bread and then maybe you’ll calm down.

Increasingly my stance on all social medias is that I love most of you but you don’t need to know all my shit and I definitely don’t need to know yours. Let’s keep the charm of mystery alive. Transparency is all well and good but no it isn’t, actually.
