There’s a lot going on in the background, but I’m really pleased with my output this year. Getting more confident and doing a big range of scales. Plus a full figure sculpt as well.
A wonderful rendition of a very old Tamiya kit and one of my favourite vehicles. Those old figures have been given a great upgrade and painting and been given new life!
It’s brilliant!
Glorious! A classic Roger Saunders Hornet figure has been delivered!
This will be a joy to paint!

Bill Horan does WW2!
I never thought I’d see the day, but Bill has done some simple modifications to the Tamiya’s recent US Scout set, and they look as you’d expect - excellent!

I fully endorse this rather wonderful idea......
If we were all to send Danny Tommo an @RNLI Christmas card simply containing "LOL", it would make a lot of money for a brilliant charity and be hilarious at the same time.
Cards can be purchased here shop.rnli.org/collections/ch…
Please spread the word.

WEDNESDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER All welcome. Come along and discuss all things model making and generally waffle as you build. Ask questions of the hive mind or show us your work in progress. Open to all no matter their experience with the hobby. us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regi…
Ripley 75mm. Finished!
Zuton Sculpts printed by El Greco Miniatures.
Painted for Models for Heroes as a YouTube series.
She came out much better than I expected, especially as I tried a dual light source. Think I managed it.

I lost a friend a week ago today. She collapsed and died while we were out running.
She was a very special person who gave so much to our local community. She'll be greatly missed.
People have been so kind. Thank you, especially to my daughter Daisy, pictured here, who got me out this morning so I wouldn't dwell on it.
There was probably nothing anyone could have done to save my friend. But it's made me think about how the rest of us can be prepared. Here are a few suggestions.
• Know the signs of a cardiac arrest. The person collapses suddenly, doesn't respond and isn't breathing normally. If you see that, call 999 straight away. Put the phone on speaker and start CPR. The call handler will talk you through it.
• Better still, learn CPR before you need it. The British Heart Foundation's free RevivR course takes 15 minutes on your phone, with a cushion to practise on. If you employ people, get them first aid trained as well. ➡️ bhf.org.uk/revivr
• Look up your nearest defibrillators on DefibFinder. If your workplace or club has one, check it's listed there too. If it isn't, 999 call handlers can't see it. In an emergency, the call handler can direct you to one and give you the code for a locked cabinet. You don't need training to use it. It tells you what to do and only gives a shock if needed. ➡️ defibfinder.uk
• Runners, always take your phone and keep it switched on. A running belt stops it bouncing around. Set up emergency information on your lock screen, so a stranger can see who to call. And remember, you can call 999 from anyone's phone, even a locked one. Most smartphones have an Emergency option on the lock screen.
Life is precious. Be mindful. Stay alert. Always be ready to help when someone needs you.
My 140th parkrun today. 20:44.
Great Denham.
Gusty conditions but my best run in ages because those splits were sharp! No flagging.
We had an awesome pacer from my club for 21:00 and I pushed at the final turn to come in quick!
Reinforcing that sub 21 feeling.
@parkrunUK
So how has @WeHaveWaysPod affected you?
I’ve only gone and sculpted and produced my first ever 1/35 figure, based loosely on Trooper George Knight MM of the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry.
This would never have happened without @James1940 and @almurray
Copies available at WHWFest!!!
So the training is starting to pay off.
An initial goal was to go under 21 minutes for 5k, and 20:41 did that!
Fastest of the year, restoring balance to my parkrun stats!
Consolidate now before trying to go sub 20??? Must be possible!
Yesterday I ran the Lowestoft Scores Race, basically 2 miles fast then 2.5 miles of running up and down cliffs. Also the most easterly race in the British Isles.
I was very happy with my time on a demanding course, missing out on my first age category win by only 12 seconds!
Visiting my parents for a race on Sunday so of course I ran the local parkrun. Running into the wind plus running up the cliff twice made it tough work.
26th of 481, 1st in age, 21:22.
Happy with that!
Had a look at my first Strava entry. I was 48 and this running lasted 1 month. I was an intermittent smoker. I walked my dogs daily.
No idea of speed…way too fast so walked. Somehow went sub 30 minutes while Jeffing. Managed 2 parkruns in the month!
@DavidDack
The recovery continues.
Equal best parkrun time for 2026, but my age grade for this was over 75%!
Had I run the course I did last week, I would have gone 20:44, but this course measures long so have to lump it! Official times only.
@parkrunUK @DavidDack
More progress on this 75mm Ripley for @modelsforheroes YouTube.
It was mostly about painting the jumpsuit, lighting one side and keeping the other darker. More sketching than perfect blending.
The end is getting closer.
Wow. Andy’s HHQ likes big boxes (and I cannot lie)
Ok…there are two complete kits in it, and it does look very, very good.
M3 Halftrack still one of my faves thanks to Tamiya and my teenage years.
A running friend is doing the 215 mile Race Across Scotland.
Lee has only done a 100 mile ultra before.
He’s about 140 miles in and in 4th place!
Lee will do a 15 mile run with a sub 20 minute Parkrun on a Saturday morning. With a buggy.
Lee is a beast.
I went urban sketching this morning, after parkrun.
My first time in over 3 years. This time in Ampthill.
The Bedford group has grown over 10 years with 28 people coming out on a glorious day.

WIP of 75mm Ripley!
Episode 7 of this Paint Along series is now up on YouTube. Here, amongst other things, I paint the number 42 onto a 1.2mm square!
