This week's work on a kind of "virtual DOM for data” is looking promising: 10-50x perf gains (depending on set size) for bulk IndexedDB writes. And this includes all the relationship tracking and integrity checks provided by Orbit.

The atomic operations extension was also (finally) released today! 🚀
This extension is the first extension shipped for use with v1.1 of JSON:API. It provides a means to perform multiple “operations” in a linear and atomic manner.

We’re focusing on last minute cleanup and docs for orbit v0.17.
We’ll release a v0.17 beta of ember-orbit very soon, and have something in the works for users of both react and orbit.
Turns out we needed (perhaps just) one more beta before v0.17 final!
v0.17.0-beta.5 fills out some missing exports, makes the JSONAPISource more customizable, and improves record diff’ing.

New TodoMVC demo that uses ember-orbit, #emberjs (octane), #orbitjs, and orbit-server to walk through building an app with increasingly sophisticated data coordination scenarios.
My favorite part is that none of the base app code changes throughout.
