Don’t tell me you aren’t killing the NHS, because that’s exactly what you are doing, Wes. Own it
'Don't tell me you don't want to be out on strike - because that is exactly where you are. Own it.' As resident doctors walk out again, @wesstreeting calls out the 'reprehensible and cartel-like behaviour' of their union.

Surreal, Labour's leadership repeatedly said the UK is not selling arms to Israel But Israel's tax authority shows the value of UK arms sales to Israel Shame on Labour - thank you #C4News for doing what others dont bother to do

Here’s a list of trans people who DID stick up for women’s rights & spaces this past decade. Please follow. They could have sat back & raked in sponsorship-this & award-that but didn’t. They turned to their trans peers & said No, which is very difficult. They are:🧵 @BuckAngel

Martina Navratilova is one ot the greatest tennis players to ever play the game. She was at the forefront of being one of the first openly gay professional athletes and has been a champion for gay rights. "Trump is right, women's sport should be for women only." On the trans women in female sports debate, Martina has always stated her belief, saying it is 'cheating' to have a transgender woman compete in women's sports because there are unfair physical advantages. I enjoyed watching Martina and Chris Everett battle back in their prime. Martins was always a class act. Kudos to you Martina for speaking out. 👏

Virginia Giuffre publicly declared that she is not suicidal and warned that if anything happens to her, the people should ensure those responsible are held accountable and never forget their actions. "Too many evil people want to see me quieted."

It’s simple . To protect a characteristic , define that characteristic, as a tangible constant . Not to do so weakens protection . Ring fencing a characteristic doesn’t mean you’ve removed validity of a separate but equally valid group 🤷‍♀️
We are delighted that @ForWomenScot has been successful in its appeal to the Supreme Court, and that the position of the Scottish Government has been rejected. The court has given the right answer: the protected characteristic of sex – male and female – refers to reality, not paperwork.

Here's the truth: When your government starts offering to "end your suffering" instead of actually helping you live, that's not compassion. That's them looking at their budget and deciding you're too expensive to keep alive. And sadly...Canada's leading the charge.

Rebecca Paul quotes written evidence and asks why are we as a society happy to rely on charity shops selling second-hand clothes to fund palliative care whilst assisted dying will be fully funded by the NHS? Funding disparities undermine it being a fair choice.

Who decided on this voting idea? Martins life is hanging o the line. Sonia's about to have her baby. Phil was just about to end his life. And you want me to vote who gets to sleep with Denise next? #EastEnders

Already I am being contacted by people vulnerable to suicide, who are terrified that the State Suicide Service - whether in the proposed form or the inevitable revisions - is coming for them. I am truly disgusted at what this country is saying to those who are vulnerable.

2/3 ethnic minority MPs voted against assisted suicide. As @FloEshalomi said powerfully in Friday's debate, "We must recognise the hard truth that health inequalities are wide and persistent." This Bill is a threat to those whose wellbeing is regularly overlooked by the state.

What about section 15 of the terminally ill adults act. Where does the “right to chose” argument sit with regard’s a by proxy request for #AssistedDying ?.
26
When my wife & I die,our stunning disabled daughter may well feel as if she's a burden. She cannot clothe herself, walk, wash herself, or communicate clearly to strangers. She's no burden. The #assisteddying bill is terrifying. The safeguards are weak. The risk for abuse is real.

Of course Improving #PalliativeCare should not be the “and we also have a chance of” at the end of this sentence . sad to see that the @TheGreenParty fail to recognise this
MPs vote 330 to 275 in favour of #AssistedDying Bill - & bring hope & comfort to so many. It has strongest safeguards in the world & by keeping issue in public eye as it goes forward for further consideration, we have best chance of improving palliative care too @dignityindying
