Former intelligence chief Abdullahi Sanbaloolshe has crossed into Somalia from Ethiopia with a heavily armed force, openly challenging President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud's government.
He is mobilising fighters in Hiiraan, while thousands of Macawiisley fighters are reportedly abandoning their positions against Al-Shabaab.
Even more disturbing, Sanbaloolshe has refused to rule out joining forces with Al-Shabaab to overthrow the government.
