One of the biggest problems in Web3 isn't getting someone to click. It's giving them a reason to stay. That's a big part of what we're building with Optivus. A user can enter through a partner, community, creator, education or directly into Optivus. From there, the journey isn't a single transaction: → Learn → Practise → Analyse → Plan → Act → Review → Progress Education gives users a foundation. Simulation lets them practise without immediately putting capital at risk. Market intelligence and tools give them reasons to return and apply what they've learned. Portfolio tracking and journaling turn activity into something they can review and build on. Community, progression, rewards, ownership and governance give users additional reasons to remain engaged as they develop. That's the important distinction. We're not trying to build another mechanism for acquiring users cheaply. We're building an ecosystem where acquisition is the beginning of the relationship, not the end goal. For partners, that creates a potential loop: Their users → Optivus → education → capability → activity → retention → deeper participation → ecosystem growth. And as the user progresses, Optivus can progress with them rather than sending them somewhere else for the next stage. That's the model we're building.

the era of meaningless partnerships in crypto needs to end partnerships have become a way for two projects to farm each other's audiences A few likes, some impressions, and back to business as usual If users can’t point to what changed because of the partnership, you had no reason to announce it bring meaningful progress together and then announce

Stop calling it an AMBASSADOR PROGRAM if people only get paid for referrals. Out of 200 ambassadors, only 20 get paid? And to qualify, you NEED to bring referrals? That's not an ambassador program. That's a referral program with extra steps. An actual ambassador contributes through content, education, community building, feedback, and helping a project grow. Not everyone has an audience that converts. Not everyone can convince people to sign up for an exchange they don't even want to use. You can't force genuine adoption just to hit a referral quota. Want referrals? Fine. Run a referral program and state the rules upfront. But don't recruit 200 people as ambassadors, make them work, then pay only 20 based on referrals. Projects want community growth without wanting to pay the community that builds it. Stop dressing up unpaid labor as an ambassador opportunity.

@grok explain why no people with the capacity to help the world never have. Why we build things that don't materially change people's live instead of focussing on making a real difference of basic human needs when the same money could change things globally for the better.

Optivus is reaching a point in development where I'm happy with the foundations we've built. That means the balance of my time is shifting. Less time buried in development, and more time trading, building relationships and getting the platform in front of the people it's been built for. I'd say we're moving towards a 50/50 split between trading and building relationships, with a little more breathing room in the schedule. There's still plenty to do, but it's good to reach a stage where I can shift more focus towards growth and bringing people into the ecosystem.

My paid X account has 1,650 followers, yet my posts often receive around 20 views. By comparison, an account I haven’t used in years, with just 400 followers, gets hundreds. I appreciate that reach depends on many factors, but the difference is significant enough to warrant a closer look. @X, could you provide a specific explanation for this disparity? Is it related to account visibility, recommendation distribution, or another factor affecting impressions? If there’s an account-specific issue, I’d appreciate guidance on how to identify and resolve it. I’d like to understand what my subscription is delivering in practice before deciding whether to continue paying for the service.

Some marketing activities make founders feel productive while the business stays in the same place -posting more -trying random channels -running campaigns because everyone is doing Early stage marketing is your fastest way to learn what drives growth your each execution should help you answer: who's your real consumer? what message makes them care? which channel brings the right people? is there actual demand for what we're building? these answers help you sharpen your ICP, improve your messaging, and spend your budget where it matters

Industry-wide struggle. Industry-wide panic. Capitulation will come. Only the useful will survive. We never needed 30 launchpads. We never needed 100 off-ramps. We never needed 30 wallets. We never needed thousands of tokens doing the same thing. We never needed another exchange listing another hundred speculative assets. We never needed endless forks of the same protocols. We never needed another layer, chain or platform with no compelling reason to exist. We never needed a thousand projects fighting over the same shrinking pool of liquidity. We never needed more hype, more influencers or more conference booths. We needed products people actually use. We needed businesses that can survive without a bull market. We needed education that gives people the confidence to participate. We needed reasons for people to stay. The industry kept building more. Now it's time to prove what was worth building in the first place.

Aggressively cleaning up my timeline. Following too many people from the same projects/social circles has made my feed repetitive and congested. Time to cut the noise, clear some headspace, and make room for different perspectives. Nothing personal. Just decluttering.

Who's ready for an uncomfortable conversation about decentralisation? We cannot decentralise everything. And in some cases, we're not legally allowed to. Think about it. You can build a decentralised protocol, but converting crypto into traditional currency often brings you back to regulated financial institutions, compliance obligations and centralised service providers. You can hold a stablecoin on a decentralised blockchain, but the issuer may still have the power to freeze it. You can own an NFT, but if the image and metadata depend on a server that disappears, what exactly do you have left? These aren't all the same problem. Some dependencies can be removed. Others can only be mitigated. Some exist because of laws and the way the financial system operates. And that's precisely the point. Decentralisation isn't binary. It's a set of trade-offs, boundaries and dependencies. Yet we talk about it as if it's an end state we can reach simply by building the right technology. Maybe the question isn't whether a system is decentralised. It's which parts are decentralised, which aren't, who controls the remaining points of failure, and whether users understand the difference. Because decentralising the settlement layer doesn't automatically decentralise the financial system. And decentralising ownership doesn't automatically guarantee access, usability or control. I'm not arguing that decentralisation is pointless. I'm arguing that we need to be more honest about what it can achieve, what it cannot, and where its limits actually lie. Are we building genuinely decentralised systems, or are we using decentralisation to describe systems that still depend on centralised institutions?

A lot of people asked if I was attending TOKEN2049. I was honest. I knew how much work I could get done in that time. The networking ROI? Anyone's guess. So I backed the sure bet and stayed home to build. Then I got a concussion and spent several days in bed doing absolutely nothing. Skipped TOKEN2049 to protect my productivity. Got concussed and became a vegetable. Absolutely nailed the ROI. 💀

Infrastructure growth isn't the same thing as adoption. You can build increasingly sophisticated financial infrastructure, but if the active user base isn't expanding with it, you're essentially building more roads for the same number of cars. The question becomes: Who are we building all this for? That's the fundamental gap Optivus has always been trying to address. Build the infrastructure. Then build the people capable of using it.

Crypto has an enormous retention and activation problem. Around 90–94% of people who own crypto aren't considered active users. Web3 network retention has been measured at just 5.4%, compared with a 25–40% benchmark for Web2. Among early retail CEX users, weekly churn has been measured as high as 15.7%, while wallet research suggests roughly 70% of new users make only one transaction and never return. The industry is getting better at acquiring users. The problem is turning them into confident, active users who stay. That's the gap Optivus is designed to address.

BREAKING: Vitalik states that @Pumpfun has killed memecoins by turning new retail investors entering the crypto space into degenerate gamblers and with no real-world use, the industry will die fast. He also stated that @pumpfun has been a net negative to crypto since it was released in 2024 by draining the $crypto ecosystem and turning retail into gamblers not investors. He also said the platform is setup like a slot machine you keep clicking until your fully drained - pump ultimately wins but retail loses.

I won't be attending Token2049 this year. Honestly, I wouldn't know where to start. I've been to enough crypto events to realise that networking for the sake of networking just isn't for me. For me, networking needs an outcome. A partnership. A collaboration. A customer. An investment. A useful introduction. Something that actually moves things forward, because time is precious and mine is much better spent getting tangible results. Maybe I'm looking at these events differently, but I've met an awful lot of people who can speak the language, know all the right names and seem to have endless conversations about what they're building. Then you look for what they've actually built, contributed or achieved, and there's often very little there. I'm not saying everyone is like that. There are some incredibly capable people in this industry, and I'd much rather have one meaningful conversation with one of them than 50 conversations that go nowhere. Perhaps that's why Token2049 feels a little daunting to me. I know exactly what I want to build with Optivus. I just don't have much interest in networking for the sake of saying I networked. Am I antisocial, or just anti-bullshit?

I've given plenty of seemingly serious people access to what I've built. Weeks later, they come back asking me to explain what I'm building. That's usually where I mentally check out. If you have access to the product, the website, the ecosystem and everything I've built, I'm not going to spend my time explaining something you could have taken five minutes to explore yourself. Satoshi put it perfectly: “If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.” — Satoshi Nakamoto

Sunday is my favourite day. It's the start of my work week. Sun–Tue: heavy programming, bug fixing if any crop up and building. Wed–Fri: heavy planning, video recording, analysis, trading, outreach, emails, partnerships and everything else that keeps Optivus moving. Then it starts again. I genuinely enjoy this part. No waiting for Monday. Sunday means go time, or Saturday night if youre America side 😃

Talk to me about trading or market analysis and I can speak for 12 hours without catching my breath. I know it inside out. I won't falter. Ask me to explain my own business and suddenly I can stutter, lose my words and butcher something I know better than almost anyone. Why? I don't think it's a lack of knowledge. It's lack of practice. I've spent years practising trading, analysis, teaching and building. I haven't spent years practising outreach, sales and business development. And there's probably an emotional component too. Trading is something I know. Optivus is something I built. When you're talking about something you've poured years of your life into, the stakes feel different. So I've realised one of my biggest weaknesses as a founder isn't building. It's communicating what I've built to people who don't already understand it. That's something I need to get much better at.
