I've just read one of the most lucid, wide-ranging, cross-disciplinary critiques of cryptocurrency and blockchain I've yet to encounter. 1/
ALT A mountain of garbage beneath a sky of flames and smoke. Atop the garbage is a 'do not litter' icon of a human figure putting waste in a trashcan. The waste has been replaced by a glittering gold Bitcoin logo. The cryptography that is in 'crypto' is merely enough to serve as a foundation myth of mathematical purity and incorruptibility. It is a blinding lustered talisman used as privatized statecraft to support empires of scams. It is not actually good cryptography. A small thread.

I think it's time for us in the tech world to speak out and make it clear the emperor has no clothes here. Cryptocurrency is sustained by a mix of money laundering, vaporware, fraud, ransomware, gambling, and delusion. It has no social benefit except helping end first dates fast

I added Game Boy (DMG), Game Boy Advance and Mega Drive support to superfamiconv #retrodev #romhacking github.com/Optiroc/SuperFami…
Numerals used in the Super Famicom Wars, English translation. Being a typography nerd I really sweated the details with these, making several sets for the same size to make sure everything was nicely aligned and kerned.
(The text renderer uses a kerning table, btw, not common!)
It's comforting to know that there's fax support applications lurking in the shadows on a brand new macOS install.

Apparently all three SNES contributions to Revision 2019 used the libSFX framework. I’m happy to have helped out in a small way to bring more SNES demos to the world! 😘 #snes #snesdev #demoscene
