I only have strong opinions on films trying to adapt books. Love to read. Don't watch too many movies, and the ones I watch I watch mostly for escapism. Very few Oscar winners on my watch list. If I want to be engaged to think, I read a book.

This feels a little weird and insincere because Scorsese was not a towering legend when he did Color of Money — he was coming off a series of bombs like After Hours which are only now considered classics. Did Cruise actually have this kind of reverence for him then?

I agree with this. The people who keep screaming that it’s “cheaper” eat the same depressing, boring food, day after day. I’m not making chicken and rice and sandwiches and stew for weeks on end. Sure, that would be “cheaper” in the long run. But you’re eating like a dog.

I'll never understand this line of thought. One item in a franchise can't destroy or ruin a previous item in the franchise. The Michael Bay transformers movies for example can't destroy or ruin the original cartoon or any subsequent series. The other still exists independently
