Working with some customer data projects today. It continues to amaze me how often people aren't even aware where the source of truth resides. Securing your data requires understanding the path information takes, where it is at rest, who can access it, and logging it all.

McDonald's does an incredible job of testing, staging, automation, process definition, and execution at scale. If you're ever looking to learn about obscure new things, @McFranchisee is worth a follow to learn about QSR process. Similar concepts can be applied anywhere.

If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life! What projects are you enjoying this fine Monday? #manufacturing

We'd love to hear from you! We're always expanding the ERP and manufacturing tech stacks we easily interface with. What are the critical vendors you need your process software to bring together? On-prem, cloudy, in-plant, ancient, rusty - what's your "doing" stack like?

$1.6 TRILLION. That's the current U.S. manufacturing backlog. Backlog looks great on a spreadsheet. Operationally, every order is a promise: materials, engineering, production, quality, shipment. Orders create opportunity. Process keeps the promise.

Tribal knowledge works surprisingly well. Until you grow. Until someone retires. Until you open another plant. Until you sell the company. Then "how we’ve always done it" becomes expensive. Turn institutional knowledge into executable process.

A surprising amount of operational risk can be summarized in one sentence: "You'll have to ask Jim how that works." That’s not a process. That’s a single point of failure with a retirement date. Build knowledge into OpsStream processes before the knowledge walks out the door.

Question to those who build: Are you offering youth in your communities apprenticeships? Have you considered it? Bringing these skills to the next generation is crucial to these industries..

Farm to Table: Food production has a simple requirement with complicated execution: know what happened to every lot. Ingredients, suppliers, QA checks, production runs, holds and shipments need to stay connected. Structured process data makes traceability and inventory a breeze.

You leave the room for 5 minutes, and ...

Field service is more than scheduling a technician. Parts availability, customer history, safety steps, photos, approvals, follow-up work and billing all matter. A good process system connects the visit and collects the data for the rest of the business.

Insurance is full of structured decisions hiding inside email threads and PDFs. Intake, document review, routing, approvals, exceptions and status updates are process problems. AI can help read the inputs. OpsStream can help run what happens next.

Next time your customer wonders "how the project is coming along", they can log into OpsStream and see the actual steps being performed in real-time. Will you miss those "just checking on .." calls?

On this day (Sept 7) in 1813, Uncle Sam got his nickname! Samuel Wilson was a supplier of barrels of meat to the Army. The barrels were stamped "U.S.", and soldiers began to call them "Uncle Sam beef". The local paper picked up on it, and Uncle Sam became synonymous with the fed.

Construction changes constantly: scope, materials, inspections, schedules, subcontractors and customer decisions. The process may be defined. The details rarely stay fixed. Business software should be able to handle both realities.

Hope you're having a great Labor Day weekend! The first 1882 Labor Day parade in NYC almost fizzled. It started with just a small group of marchers. Then about 200 jewelers from Newark arrived by ferry with a band playing Gilbert and Sullivan and the crowd suddenly swelled.

Spectators jumped into the group, and estimates later put the marchers at 10,000-20,000!

Aerospace manufacturing can involve thousands of suppliers, parts, certifications and exceptions. When a supplier slips, the question is not just “what is late?” It's “what does this affect, who needs to act, and what happens next?” OpsStream can help manage supply surprises.
