🚨Roblox Face Recognition Immediate Deletion Lie🚨 So as we all know Roblox wants everyone to scan their faces with AI to verify their age to get chat functionality to people within their age groups determined by AI unless you have a valid ID proving otherwise. About half of the platform according to them complied to do these AI facial recognition scans to determine their age. They at first explicitly said that facial images and or biometric data would be deleted immediately after the age check. Then seemingly, Roblox quietly updated their privacy policy to say that biometric data can be kept up to 30 days... that's not "immediate." and that's a big difference. You don't get to change the rules after people already scanned their faces, especially children who's parents may not have even consented to letting their kids participate in this since it just shows up on their accounts by default. If the data truly wasn't being used for anything else, why are we extending retention of this data at all? Why wasn't this stated clearly from the start? Biometric data is not an email or a username it's our face. This to me is a bait and switch which destroys my trust in Roblox and they need to explain this publicly to all of us because I do not sit right with this. I even told my son if he ever clicks that button and scans his face I will delete his Roblox account since there is no way for me as a parent to stop him from tapping the button. The privacy notice does not mention immediate or any words for biometric data being deleted instantly. So it is believed to apply to all biometric data including AI facial scans, and not just government ID scans. There are also reports from users that claim their ages were updated a week or 2 after their initial facial scans for age estimation, so if that is to be believed, if the data is deleted instantly, why would their ages be updated weeks later to a new age group if the data is instantly deleted so how could it refer to change an age group without having said biometric data. @KreekCraft @Roblox_RTC Please cover this.
