iCTRL is now open source. ⚡
It's the iPhone automation tool we built to test Open Minis, and it turns out to be useful for far more than testing.
Built on XCUITest, but designed for AI agents: Codex, Claude Code, Hermes, OpenClaw and Minis can tap, type, read the screen and launch apps on your iPhone or iPad, over Wi-Fi or right on the device.
🧠 Ships with its own Skill: an agent that only knows the IP address learns how to drive the phone by itself
👀 Sees more: built-in OCR reads web views and custom-drawn text
🤖 Built for unattended runs: errors tell the agent what to do next, so it doesn't get stuck
🖥️ Watch live: stream the screen to your browser while it works
📡 Pair once, then go wireless: set it up one time, and from then on your agent drives the phone over Wi-Fi
One sentence is all it takes: "Open Trip.com on my iPhone and find an eSIM for China."

We’re excited to open-source iCTRL soon — the internal iPhone automation tool we’ve relied on to develop, test, and polish Open Minis. 📱⚡
iCTRL lets any AI agent safely and efficiently control an iPhone — either wirelessly over the local network or directly on-device.
Like WebDriverAgent, it’s built on Apple’s native XCTest framework, but engineered for the LLM era:
⚡ Blazing performance: Near-instant execution & lower latency
🧼 Agent-friendly APIs & Skills: Cleaner view hierarchy designed for maximum token efficiency
🔒 Safe & reliable: No jailbreak required, strict sandbox boundaries
But iCTRL is far more than a testing suite — it turns your iPhone into an actionable surface for daily agent workflows.
Just ask your agent:
"Hey Minis, I want to travel to China. Open the Trip.com app on my iPhone and find an eSIM available in China."
Stay tuned — repo coming to GitHub soon!

We're exploring a new way to speed up Open Minis on iPhone: AOJIT ⚡
We pre-record JIT images on a Mac and ship them as native code. Over 95% of hot code is covered in our tests.
Early results on iPhone: ~2.5x faster on average across typical agent tasks (up to 3.9x). Faster runs, less CPU time, less battery.
It's already live in TestFlight — install the latest build, then go to Settings and turn on AOJIT to try it:
