🚀 OpenMAIC v1.2.0 is HERE!
Taking the whole lesson with you just got easier.
Our biggest architecture update since launch—shaped by your feedback and the way you teach.
🏠 Try it: open.maic.chat/home
Here’s what’s new:👇
📤 PPTX export, rebuilt
Interactive pages, quizzes, and PBL scenes now stay in their original position as placeholder slides with an “Open online” button and QR code. Prefer a cleaner deck? Choose slides only.
📦 One file, a whole classroom
Offline HTML export packs course pages, interactive content, quizzes, PBL info, narration, captions, spotlight, and video into a single file. No deployment needed—open it in a browser and it plays. Pick with or without narration.
🗂️ Large classrooms export as ZIP
Anything over 400 MB is packaged as a ZIP. Unzip it, open classroom.html, and teach offline.
🧩 [Self-hosted] Architecture upgrade
Course generation and material parsing now run on the server, with course data and model settings stored there too.
Generation keeps going after you close the page.
⚡ A smoother teaching experience
Home page loading skeletons, unified pagination for folders and courses in My Courses, and more reliable narration and captions.
Take your next lesson with you 👇

OpenMAIC v1.1.0 brings your questions closer to what’s on the page. 🚀
Reference a chart, formula, or interactive component and ask your AI teacher about it. With an upgraded Agent Loop, it can read the component’s current state, search the web, and use tools to explain what’s happening and why.
Finer model controls give you the freedom to choose models for different steps of the classroom workflow.
You’ve also asked for more credits to keep creating and learning.
🔥OpenMAIC now makes it easier to connect your own Token Plan:
TokenDance · MiniMax · Kimi · Seed
More integrations are on the way🍃
TokenDance adds an education-focused option, with the freedom to choose the models and services that work for you.
🎁 Surprise : Arena now goes beyond interactive components. Enter a topic and compare how two models teach it—with slides, synchronized narration, and visual guidance, using the same voice and playback settings. Another step toward comparing complete AI classrooms.
This update grew out of your questions, feedback, and ideas. Keep them coming—our open-source community is shaping what’s next for OpenMAIC. 💙

What if deploying an AI classroom was just one prompt?
Added the OpenMAIC Skill to Codex and typed:
“Help me deploy OpenMAIC locally.”
A few moments later → OpenMAIC running locally.
No coding required.
Then I generated a lesson from the same workflow.

OpenMAIC PRO Mode is now live ✨
Turn on PRO Mode from the homepage to enter the new AI-native Workbench.
Inside the Workbench, you can chat with the agent, watch your course take shape in real time, preview slides, and refine the content without jumping between tools.
Just describe what you want to teach : the agents can help plan the course, generate slides, build interactive content, and keep iterating with you through conversation.
Chat. Preview. Edit. All in one workspace.
A workspace where conversation becomes the course.

At UNESCO’s Digital Learning Week 2026, we shared stories from the OpenMAIC community in Malaysia, Oman, Brazil, the US and beyond. 🌍
Across languages, cultures and classroom realities, educators are adapting AI to local needs—with a shared hope of opening up more opportunities to learn.

A huge moment for us: OpenMAIC at UNESCO Digital Learning Week. 🇺🇳
In Paris, we brought OpenMAIC into the room with educators from around the world , not just to demo AI, but to hear what it actually takes to make AI useful in their classrooms.
We believe anyone should be able to turn what they want to learn into a classroom that teaches, explains, shows, and interacts with them.
From China to the world. We’re just getting started. 🚀

"Teach me vibe coding." That was the whole prompt.
OpenMAIC built the rest — an AI teacher who explains it, AI classmates who discuss it with you, and experiments you can actually try.
Open source, from Tsinghua University. 30K+ stars on GitHub.
Bring any topic, or your own PDF, paper, or slides.
