“People like a lot of people who are, maybe they were even recent AI skeptics were saying things like, I can now do things that would have taken me like many days or even weeks of work. AI can do like it in 20 minutes and it can do a bunch of them in parallel." -- @sama
My little tweak:
I can now do things that would previously have taken me many days—or even weeks—of work. By leveraging AI-powered tools, I can now do them much faster and in parallel.

Yep!
That’s what RDF (an open standard) can do for AI agent context, memory, and related capabilities — all essential pieces of a harness, but delivered in a loosely coupled form that is easy to adapt, share, and reuse.
The entire journey still comes back to the issues long addressed by the Semantic Web project. It is basically loose coupling facilitated by open standards versus the usual technical-debt-compounding silos. 😀

Despite the architectural differences that we (@OpenLink) have with @PalantirTech (i.e., shared ontologies based on open standards vs. proprietary approaches), I do agree with Alex Karp’s fundamental point about value-creating insights, strategies, proprietary data, and business operational skills that customers (enterprises and governments alike) need to fully control, without leakage to frontier model providers.
Fundamentally, this is why open source and Edge AI are inevitable pieces of the puzzle that will challenge the business models of both @OpenAI and @AnthropicAI for the foreseeable future.
What do you think?
Palantir CEO Alex Karp on what customers actually want, the real business of frontier labs, and the importance of open source models:
“What the technical customers want is control over their compute, their models, their data stack, and their alpha. They want to know they own the means of production, and it's not being transferred to someone else.”
"Who owns the data? Are the prompts secure? Is this being transferred to you?"
"If it was so valuable, and I can make you a billion dollars, wouldn't I say I'll make you a billion dollars and I want 30%? Why are they charging for tokens if it's so valuable?"

Additional steps for bringing self-sovereign identity (SSI) to all.
This pursuit was extremely difficult to deliver in consumer-friendly form. AI Agents fix that!

Delegation works just as easily too!
Meaning:
I have an identity that is distinct from the identity of an AI Agent acting on my behalf. That delegation relationship can be expressed in a machine-computable form and transmitted via HTTP requests (and, in the case of Virtuoso, via SQL connections using ODBC and JDBC).

Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) utterly changes the dynamics of commerce at both Internet and Web scale.
Here’s a @NotebookLM deck generated from my Q&A notes on how Virtuoso simplifies harnessing its power, whether you’re a buyer or a seller, in this new facet of an Agentic (Semantic) Web.
Enjoy!
BTW — there’s a demo link in the comments showcasing a simple ACP use case: paid access to a single file.

Here's an analysis that sheds light on some critical omissions in this important essay about AI and government policy.
The key omission lies in the area of self-sovereign identity (SSI) and its importance to privacy and protection in general.

Today I'm publishing a new essay, Policy on the AI Exponential. AI is progressing extremely fast—much faster than the policy process was built to handle. The essay lays out where I think the technology is now, and the action needed to close the gap: darioamodei.com/post/policy-…

In the age of AI, eCommerce will be reorganized.
Not around platforms, but around participation.
Enterprises and individuals alike will be able to offer, discover, negotiate, and exchange digital goods through open protocols and shared semantics.
Much of the necessary infrastructure has existed for years, thanks to the Semantic Web Project. What was missing was a usable interface. AI agents are rapidly becoming that interface.
In a LOAC world, commerce can begin with something as simple as a file containing valuable content that an author chooses to monetize. The file becomes a linked entity associated with offers, licenses, prices, and access rights that both humans and machines can understand and act upon.

It’s World Cup time, and the world’s most popular sport has just kicked off.
Here’s a wonderful Knowledge Graph (by @dan_hmills), deployed as a Semantic Web, that showcases what’s possible in Sports Analytics in the age of AI and AI Agents.
I also have a few showcases in wings that align with the concept of Linked Open Agentic Commerce (LOAC) and emerging approaches to commerce that begin with a single file containing monetizable content.
