I was honored to join the @OpenEdHQ Podcast for my deepest dive yet into how I homeschool day-to-day as a former neuroscientist.
We covered👇
✨Joyful rigor that kids actually love
🔹Brain-based daily structure for focus & depth
✨How your home shapes attention, taste & ambition
🔹Sensitive windows for language/math
✨Letting kids "date" books for real ownership
🔹AI for math (but YOU can't be replaced)
✨Raising taste → raises effort (opera, Shakespeare & hard books!)
🔹Rigorous mornings + expansive afternoons
Enjoy!

Matt and I wrote a book about why the school system was never designed for your kid.
Then Matt wrote a comedy sketch about the moment Horace Mann pitched the Prussian factory model to America in 1837, and filmed it in a real one-room schoolhouse.

Google's Cursor competitor: FREE!
My course for you to learn: FREE!
My holiday gift to you 🎁
[⚠️ Comment "Antigravity" & I'll send you the link]
Antigravity is Google's answer to Cursor.
It's an AI tool that works directly on your device.
Not just for developers!
For ANYONE who works with text.
It's 100% free right now.
Access to Gemini 3 Pro.
Even Claude Opus 4.5 (!)
Use Nano Banana Pro right in the chat.
No subscription. No trial. No credit card.
This won't last forever.
I've been teaching Cursor to PMs for months.
But Cursor costs $20/month.
Antigravity removes that barrier completely.
So I rebuilt the entire course for AG.
It's an Antigravity course taught IN Antigravity.
So everything you do is directly applicable!
The AI IN the tool is your teacher.
What you'll learn:
→ Write PRDs with AI assistance
→ Analyze CSV data and survey results
→ Create strategy documents
→ Build reusable templates and workflows
But here's what most people don't realize:
This isn't just for PM work.
The real reason I wanted to get this out today...
On-device AI assistants are useful for LIFE:
🔹 Want to reorganize your files?
🔹 Rename hundreds of photos?
🔹 Clean up your Downloads folder?
🔹 Convert documents between formats?
🔹 Troubleshoot why something isn't working?
Just open the files and ask.
Talk to it like a person.
I spend all day in these tools now.
I've never been so productive.
Or had so much fun.
AI in a browser is like wearing a straightjacket.
This is a terrible day for a launch.
But I genuinely want to free you!
You've been meaning to learn this stuff.
You've got the time.
The course is free.
The tool is free.
No excuses!
This is my gift to you.
Happy Holidays 🌲

Your kids need to be doing math problems they don't understand
You read that right
Kids need to learn how to solve problems that they've never been taught how to solve
Math is one of the BEST subjects to do this
Beast Academy Puzzle books are a great place to start

✨What If Your Kids Could Take the Control of Their Education?
This week, I had the pleasure of interviewing @myHomeSmithsER who homeschooled all three of their children through to college.
Their greatest strength lies in how intentionally they taught their kids to take ownership of their education, building discipline slowly while nurturing a genuine love of learning.
We talk about how much curriculum you really need to complete and how sports became a vital part of their children’s education.
I left this conversation feeling deeply encouraged by Alison and William’s calm confidence and authenticity.
They’re truly special, and I hope you enjoy learning from them as much as I did♥️

If you skip the education conveyor belt, people will blame any failures or struggles on the fact that you didn't get a degree or diploma.
But if you struggle and fail after getting the piece of paper, no one blames school.
Weird.
Honors ≠ happiness.
Diplomas ≠ thriving.
The conveyor belt is broken says @isaacmorehouse — here’s why:

A grad student walked into class late, saw two statistics problems on the board, and thought they were homework.
He solved them.
Turns out they weren’t homework. They were unsolved problems in statistics.

But really - what IS classical education? We just dropped a guide that explains everything (Latin optional).

Gary V was terrible at school but successful at everything else. His take? 'School failed me. It's built for workers, not entrepreneurs.'
Do you think school kills entrepreneurial thinking? Or does it give you basics you need first? What's your take?"
