That’s why we’re building OpenBot.
We live in a bubble. AI adoption has been incredibly fast. But for a lot of people, “using AI” still means asking ChatGPT a quick question. We overestimate how familiar most people actually are with AI. Are you seeing the same thing?

OpenBot 0.44.0 & 0.44.1 🚀 Better ways to work with agents - Agents can ask questions using buttons, quick replies, choice lists, and forms. - A new Tasks page brings agent tasks together, grouped by what needs your attention: Needs you, Working, Waiting, and Closed. - View your OpenBot activity over the past year and create a shareable recap image. - Set a memory limit for agents on a joined server. - Owners and admins can configure it in Server settings. More control over the built-in browser - Take over an agent’s browser tab at any time, then hand it back so the agent can continue. - Open, duplicate, move, and organize tabs from the tab menu. - Find open tabs and recently visited pages from the address bar, or stop a page while it’s loading. - Use familiar keyboard shortcuts in the expanded browser view. Safer, more reliable integrations - Agents no longer receive MCP sign-in tokens directly; OpenBot adds them to tool requests. - Signing out or removing an MCP server revokes its tokens, and expired tokens can renew during a long-running session. - OpenBot now gives clearer sign-in status and lets you cancel an in-progress provider sign-in. Reliability improvements - OpenBot can recover if a power loss damages server settings, and saves settings more safely to help prevent data loss. - Changing a member’s role no longer disconnects the server and everyone on it. - Retry a message after a provider refuses its first attempt without leaving the agent stuck. - Provider CLI updates wait for an active turn to finish, then start automatically. - Routine answers no longer appear twice in a Claude chat after an OpenBot restart. Settings no longer gets stuck on an empty page. Files & tools - Open large local files over 100 MB from the file panel, even when they can’t be previewed. - Claude agents can use tools from your shell’s PATH when OpenBot is opened from Finder, the Dock, or a login item. I built an AI marketing department using @OpenBot_ 4 AI agents. 4 specialist roles. 1 team working together on marketing. I broke down the entire setup, from creating the agents to giving them skills and a shared knowledge base. Watch the full build: youtu.be/ieAvl_PCZ9g

OpenBot 0.40.0 is here 🚀 Models & usage limits - Send a queued message to another connected model when your current model hits its usage limit. - Keep the agent’s workspace and thread when switching models, then return to its original model when the limit resets. Routines & integrations - Set a timezone for each server so routines run at the right local time. - Schedule one-time reminders. - Send routine answers to Slack, Discord, or Telegram, with delivery status and an option to resend. - Connect 1Password on joined servers, including headless servers. Notifications & controls - Receive agent notifications on Android. - Choose which servers appear in Dynamic Island without disconnecting them. Self-hosting - Back up, verify, and restore Docker instances. - Limit concurrent work when memory is low to help prevent out-of-memory failures. More improvements - Fill up to 16 text fields in the built-in browser in one step. - See only ready-to-use providers in the model picker. Undo an agent deletion for 8 seconds. Fixes - Prevent Gemini from accumulating temporary files on Windows. - Stop automatic provider restarts after three failed attempts and show the reason. Full changelog: openbot.run/changelog#v0-40-…

This is what an army of bots looks like in action. They write the code, run the tests, fix bugs, and manage the entire process. You review and approve the final result. Build your own team of agents with OpenBot.

OpenBot v0.39.0 and v0.39.1 bring more ways to collaborate, connect tools, and manage your agents. Agents that work together - Agents in Slack, Discord, and Telegram can answer simple questions themselves and bring in a teammate when they need its tools or context. - Move agents, routines, skills, memories, and settings between servers with the new Transfer tool. - Agents can now use separate Codex, Claude, or Grok accounts, each with its own usage limits. More capable agents - Agents can capture a display, window, or selected area after you approve the capture. - Connect Vercel so agents can browse projects and deployments, read logs, and investigate failed builds. Docker and server updates - Run multiple isolated OpenBot Docker instances on one host, each with its own resource limits. - Update Docker instances from the app. - See clearer server connection and update progress. More convenient app experience - OpenBot’s website now links to the iPhone and Android apps. - Copy, react to, or reply to a message from one action row. Full changelog: openbot.run/changelog

Want to know what’s happening at work while you’re on vacation? Now you can get one morning briefing from email, Slack, and Discord instead of checking every channel yourself. Here’s how we set it up for one of our teammates:

The Discord Scout looks for useful product feedback, reported issues, and questions from the community. Its findings go into the same morning report.

That’s the setup: specialized agents check email, Slack, and Discord and the Briefing Agent pulls together everything. One report in the morning, then back to vacation. If you want the same thing, try OpenBot.
