Any country that holds a referendum for statehood, and who's government petitions the US for statehood, should be undeniably ENTITLED to a hearing in Congress, a minimum amount of open debate on the floor, and a binding vote.
I will say this about Italy, this is the best tasting toothpaste I have ever used, and it’s not even close. Must find in America when I return home.
Not to sound like an obnoxious tech douche, but it’s REMARKABLE how far behind Europe has fallen in technology as a result of regulatory overreach and ludditism.
When I lived here almost 20 years ago the average European had better internet connectivity, mobile coverage and speed, and consumer technology. Today, coming back, it feels like none of that has improved since I left, and in many case gotten worse.
This is an admission that only a Eurocentric white American would make. Arab nationalists are quite proud of their conquest of the region and expulsion of the Jews from their homeland. Their claims don’t even deny the existence of the pre-Arab jewish presence
But also, like, 3000 years ago is not pre-history. We have endless first-hand accounts, art, legal documents, literature, poetry, etc. from this time. It’s not like it’s some mythic time period we have reconstructed through guesswork. It was incredibly well documented.
Literally nobody is making these things competitive except YOU. Millions of normal people do them every day without any pretense or illusion of trying to be great at them. Have you never been to karaoke at a dive bar?

Obligatory McDonald’s in foreign country. I always try the unique items we don’t have in the US. From Italy, chicken wings (6/10, remind me of 7-Eleven wings), and Asiago and Ham bites (8/10, would recommend.)
Internet and cellular connectivity in Italy is giving me flashbacks to like 2002 in America. Abysmal.
Yesterday when I was going through customs entering Italy the border agent that checked my passport asked, point blank, if we supported Donald Trump. When we said “fuck no” she smiled, thanked us, and started talking shit about him while she completed our paperwork.
