University Librarian Billy Tringali is channeling his lifelong passion for anime and manga into something truly impactful: creating a vibrant sense of community and sparking a deeper appreciation for research among students at IU Indy. ⭐📓
Billy’s connection to anime and manga began in childhood and has grown into a scholarly pursuit. He is the founder of the Journal of Anime and Manga Studies — the first and only English-language, open-access academic journal dedicated to the field. Through this initiative, he’s not only elevating anime and manga as serious subjects of study, but also connecting students across disciplines and backgrounds.
