As a young soldier based in Germany in the 1980s. I never thought I'd ever see a US president side with a Russian president over an invasion on European soil.

Don’t ignore Red warnings. If you are in the zone get in somewhere and encourage others to do the same. Stay away from roads, trains, rivers, flood water and coast lines if you can. Have torches and charged lights and charged phone and powerbank to hand
I'm not going to discuss the wider politics, but I think this is an interesting piece discussing contemporary subT operations.

The numbers around higher education for care experienced have always been shocking. My own experience as an undergraduate was difficult, probably compounded by having joined the army from care at 16, then leaving to go to university with no real-world experience.
Guys a quick heads up, don't do what I usually did and ignore the invites for eye tests. my optician spotted an problem, and I've since been diagnosed with macular degeneration. But, because we have caught it very early we can try and slow it down and mitigate the problem.
Time to relax now I've finished my talk. Nice being able to enjoy a fascinating set of sessions from L&MPS at the Institute of Search and Technical Rescue. #INSTR24
Got to love the NHS. went for my regular hearing check up, which is always fun due to having Meniere's. Walked out with a new set of high tech hearing aids, now the world sounds very noisy, especially in the treble range...lol

I thought the military was bad for acronyms and technically jargon.
They have nothing on the NHS or LRFs. I'm having to learn a completely new language!
Two weeks into the new job and today was an interesting introduction to business continuity within an NHS trust.

Purely from a personal perspective, this was a great day and fantastic to be working alongside the Caversham Road crew to bring the water safety message to the public.

What good crisis comms looks like:
Singapore Airlines flight #SQ321, operating from London (Heathrow) to Singapore on 20 May 2024, encountered severe turbulence en-route. The aircraft diverted to Bangkok and landed at 1545hrs local time on 21 May 2024.
We can confirm that there are injuries and one fatality on board the Boeing 777-300ER. Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. (1/2)
As somebody who was put into a "secure" children's home because there was nowhere else to put me, I'm outraged that this is still a thing. Surely @ChildrensComm should rising merry hell!
