NEW. End all discrimination in blood donation.
Today changes to blood donation criteria come into force meaning far more gay & bisexual men can safely donate. But discriminatory restrictions remain which mainly impact Black communities.
This must urgently change @MattHancock👇
Happy World Blood Donor Day! 💉 🎉
Unfortunately, if you are a black donor in England, you may find that the eligibility criteria leave you more confused and wary to donate than excited to do your part to help the community. #blooddonation onevoicenet.org/post/confusi…

Two good Qs by @BellRibeiroAddy on what is being done to prevent late diagnosis of HIV among the Black communities.
We await the answer.
If BAME communities have been “hard to reach” it is because they have not responded to interventions that have not been designed for them.

We have long known that Black people in the UK are disproportionately affected by poor sexual health. So what is being done to address it?onevoicenet.org/post/researc…
👉 Provide culturally and socially relevant sexual health information resources for communities and health professionals
👉 Create a long-term national programme which can embed lessons from pilot projects, build communities’ trust, and minimize geographical disparities
Do you have any examples of culturally appropriate sexual health programmes which have been co-produced with Black communities? Retweet, comment or email [email protected] so that we can promote good practice, learn from experiences and increase collaboration.
