There is now significant momentum building behind the scenes towards an official announcement of future NBA expansion.
At the next league meeting, owners are expected to approve Las Vegas and Seattle as new franchises.
The NBA would become a 32-team league in 2028-29.
Truly embarrassing that they gave up right before our eyes.
Time for Football season & looking forward to Hockey season & the the eventual announcement of NBA Expansion that leads to The Return of The Sonics back home here to Seattle.

- Bill Foley (Vegas Golden Knights ownership) and Nancy Walton Laurie/Bill Laurie (Walmart family) are believed to be leading contenders to get team in Las Vegas
- Samantha Holloway (Seattle Kraken ownership) is the only known bidder for a team in Seattle
- "Sources believe" NBA will select owner in Vegas before moving on to decision in Seattle
- Vegas team could go for around $9 billion; Seattle expected to draw lower expansion fee
