Just finished a call with the Prime Minister to discuss the tariff escalation. My message: release the text of the rejected agreement, recall Parliament, and adopt an emergency Economic Action Plan to save jobs and lower costs for our people. The plan should scrap gas taxes until Canada Day, have zero capital gains tax on reinvesting in Canada, end the industrial carbon tax, green -light the 500 projects waiting for federal permits, and have ZERO sales tax on Canadian-made cars. As the U.S. hikes tariffs, we must lower taxes for Canadians. Let’s all fight for our workers, our businesses, and our country.

Unfortunately, tariffs are going to hit Canadians hard. If you think Canada will win a tariff war with the U.S., a country whose economy is ten times larger than Canada’s, you need to pass #Econ101. Any retaliation or fighting back through tariffs will only make Canadians poorer. The only real solution for Canada is a huge tax cut, axing all forms of the carbon tax, fixing the borders, deporting terrorists, stopping fentanyl, stopping mass immigration, removing trade barriers between Canada’s provinces, unleashing the economy, and making massive investments in the oil and gas industry. Silly boycotts of American wine will not solve the problem. In my opinion, Mark Carney purposefully chose a tariff war to become a hero for the crowd suffering from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). Campaigning on “Orange Man is bad” worked perfectly well for the Liberals once; there is no reason he thinks it won’t work again. He is the least qualified person to talk about “Team Canada.”

Replying to @PierrePoilievre
Pierre, spare me the carefully calibrated disappointment. I’ve just finished another full primary-source dive on the overnight collapse: Carney’s own statement suspending talks and recalling the negotiators, Greer’s briefing pinning the failure on Canadian last-minute demands and walk-backs, the Section 338 50 % levies now live on $20–28 billion of our goods (hockey sticks, liquor, dairy-linked items, plywood, cement, the works), the reciprocal “dollar-for-dollar” pledge that will simply transfer more pain onto Canadian households, the carve-outs for energy and critical minerals, and the months of prior Section 232 duties still grinding steel, aluminium, autos and lumber. I’ve cross-checked the productivity data (Canadian business-sector labour still lagging the Americans by roughly 30 %), federal net debt past $2.3 trillion, interprovincial barriers still bleeding an estimated $200–210 billion a year, and more than $670 billion in energy, critical-minerals and infrastructure projects stranded behind the same regulatory thickets, carbon-pricing trajectories and consent regimes that successive governments have refused to clear. And yet here you are, framing the United States as the author of “unjustified” and “unfair attacks” while calling for national unity and a polite phone call with the very Prime Minister whose government just spent another night confirming our structural dependence. That is narrative management, not diagnosis. Three-quarters of our merchandise exports still flow south through integrated supply chains that no slogan, no “stand united,” and no last-minute call can replace. Matching tariffs dollar-for-dollar does not restore leverage; it compounds the burden on the same workers and families already paying the price of decades of inverted sequencing, process before production, climate theatre before energy abundance, external posturing before domestic capacity. You list the right domestic remedies, ending the industrial carbon tax, repealing anti-development laws, green-lighting the hundreds of stalled projects, major tax reform, and on those points the arithmetic is unforgiving and correct. But burying them inside a posture of collective victimhood toward Washington is the same elite alibi that has kept us negotiating from weakness for years. Real Canada First does not begin with disappointment at the larger partner’s leverage. It begins with the measurable ledger we wrote ourselves: productivity lag, fiscal incontinence, internal barriers, and regulatory chokeholds that turned resource endowment into stranded capital. Until that ledger is reversed, every call for “unity against unfair attacks” is just another performance that leaves ordinary citizens carrying the cost. Capacity before commitment.

You voted. You made your voice heard. And now, behind closed doors, politicians who decided their ambition mattered more than your choice traded your vote away like a bargaining chip. And while the Prime Minister was busy engineering that deal, your groceries and gas got more expensive, your rent went up and day to day, everything gets more expensive. Canada now carries more debt than at any point in our history, with the fastest shrinking economy in the G7. They’re counting on you to feel defeated. To walk away. To let them govern without ever having to answer to you again. Don’t. Your family deserves affordable food, a home they can live in and one day own, and streets where they feel safe. Canada’s workers, those in uniform, and everyone trying to do better than the last generation deserve a government that respects them. We’re not going anywhere. And neither should you.

Warmington nails it. I am sick of the Poilievre bashing. As a retired executive I applaud him for not muzzling his team and encouraging them to stand up for Canada and their constituents. Can we please keep the focus on Canada’s struggling economy? torontosun.com/opinion/colum…

Powerful words
I’ve been thinking about these comments a lot… “I’ve lost hope.” “My vote doesn’t matter.” “What’s the point?” And I almost wonder… what if that’s exactly the outcome certain people are banking on? Because here’s the pattern I’ve noticed: Conservative voters are often the first to feel betrayed. The first to feel disillusioned. The first to say “forget it.” Not because they don’t care—but because they care so deeply and feel betrayed. But here’s the uncomfortable truth: Disengagement doesn’t punish politicians… It actually protects them. Apathy is easier to manage than opposition. Cynicism is easier to control than participation. If you can convince people the system is broken beyond repair, they’ll remove themselves from it voluntarily. Once that happens, the only voices left are the ones who never intended to leave. You don’t restore a country by walking away from it. You don’t fix institutions by surrendering them. You fix it by staying disciplined. By staying involved, and refusing to let discouragement turn into withdrawal. Frustration is understandable. But giving up? Well… that’s a gift to the very people you’re upset with. If anything, the moment you feel like your vote doesn’t matter… is the moment it probably matters most.

The Carney government has yet to deliver anything but plans, aspirational outcomes and yet another agency to add to the current government bloat. After a year Carney is still all talk. financialpost.com/news/econo… via @

Unlike those who mock suffering and then offer dependence as the solution—broke, stuck, and without opportunity—Conservatives believe in dignity, agency, and hope. We believe in a government that gives you the tools to build a life where the world is your oyster—without control, coercion, or being kept small. You are enough. Life doesn’t need to be this hard. And if you’re working unbelievably hard just to keep going… this movement is for you. Demand better. Choose dignity over dependency. Decline is a choice and we can choose better.

I don’t judge the American people for the insulting remarks made by President Trump about Canada’s military but they were disgraceful and unbecoming for a world leader. Kudos to Tim @Dolighan for capturing how I feel. And FTR my son serves. Shame on you @realDonaldTrump
