Hello @GadSaad I hope this response finds you well. I do agree with you, based on principle. However, as a Canadian, I have recognized just how important anonymity is - particularly online and on social media. Social media itself breeds a degree of pathology among all people, regardless if they are anonymous or not. I can say that with confidence. Aside from the inherent problems that social media brings with it, I have noticed that over the past decade, people particularly on the left, have become far less reasonable. During COVID here in Canada, as I'm sure you'll remember, our own government prolonged the COVID restrictions and lied to the public continuously. If it wasn't about the virus, it was about the vaccines. When many of our good Canadians came together and started the Freedom Convoy (still the worlds largest peaceful protest) our government responded by labeling the participants of the protest as "terrorists". Not only that, but any Canadian who might have even contributed to the cause was under serious threat of having their bank accounts frozen - during a time where COVID restrictions were still being mandated by our cowardly, ill-informed, and smug WEF members - I mean our government. Regardless of where you live in the world though, the small voices who do want to speak out and express their views or opinions are always overshadowed by the other small voices that are willing to sacrifice the safety, well-being, and even the lives of others. This has mostly been an issue with people "on the left", but there are also some bad actors on the right as well, who simply can't wait for a civil war to break out just so they can claim "revenge". Without anonymity, many more people would have been harassed. Many more people would lose their jobs. The threat is there, and the threat is real. Sick individuals have had other small voices on the internet "swatted" - with tragic results I might add. I personally, would have no problem writing or making posts under my real name, but it is not me that I am worried about. These sick individuals purposefully target family members, relatives, and even friends for the crime of nothing more that stating their life values or expressing a genuine opinion... sometimes for less than that. I know you already understand all of this. The majority of people on any of these social media platforms are just little people who want their voices to be heard. Many of them would agree with you, that we need more accountability. However, it is absolutely apparent that accountability is only expected of the "little voices" and not our "Elite". Accountability works one way only - right now. As you've seen here in Canada, people in positions of power and authority have been allowed to cheer on the death of Charlie Kirk without so much as a slap on the hands. There is an absolute double standard here in Canada, and in most western countries now. We are not truly free, but with some degree of anonymity, we are able to express ourselves and to vent our frustrations. Most of us are not unhinged, criminally insane, or hateful. Unfortunately, it is due to the very nature of the people that are, that us "little voices" express ourselves under a nickname, username, or pseudonym. The day that public and government officials, authority figures, and those not heavily protected by a massive workers union are *Held Accountable* - will be the day that the rest of us can drop our anonymity. You may not agree with me, but I have thought long and hard about the matter. My original intentions for social media were not political in any way, but due to the times at hand, I've found myself wanting to engage more, knowing that my family would be at risk if I gave any of my personal information. People should be fired for their behavior. If people cheer on the death of an innocent human being, then yes - they should be fired - because individuals who do not value that which is most precious on this earth, are a danger and a hazard to those around them.
