Nah, that was just an excuse. Truth is that I knew that the sloths would miss you if you left. WON’T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE SLOTHS? #RightsForSloths (Seriously, you were very much missed!)

Delighted that Sir Graham Brady’s KINGMAKER publishes today! It is, as The Telegraph rightly says, truly “explosive.” Whether you agree with his politics or not, no-one has had a more up-close-and-personal view of our recent politics than Graham. It’s a must read

I have got very into the NYT mini and it’s accompanying leaderboard. Normally I can nail it in two mins or less - sometimes as low as 30-40 seconds. Today? Not so much

Delighted to be working with the legendary @Legs__McNeil and Crispin Kott on their remarkable portrait of the NYC punk scene - and Leg's position at its heart. RESIDENT PUNK, from @BenBellaBooks, is going to be one hell of an eye-opening ride!

Officially on my holibobs. Get in.

And now I have enough time for the obligatory pre-flight beer

I am so sad to announce the death of celebrated novelist Christopher Priest. The author of 18 novels over a career spanning half a century - including The Prestige, later turned into a feature film - he leaves an extraordinary legacy in both the literary & SF worlds.

An enormously happy publication day to a game changing history, SURVIVORS by Hannah Durkin from @WmCollinsBooks. Telling the lost stories of the final survivors of the American slave trade, this is a revelatory story, masterfully told. I’m so proud of Hannah.

Olivia Yallop. 12/12/93 - 19/11/22. I’m a fan.

Am I angry about Livvi’s death? Absolutely. Am I deeply sad? 100%. But I’m proud to have known her. Delighted to have had the honour of helping her book into the world. Glad to have sat under thunder and rain with her. And grateful, too, for the sunlight in the garden. 11/
