It IS possible to get a PURE HEART AND... keep it pure until the end! "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8 When we repent, believe in Christ and are born again, we receive a new mind and a new heart! We are given grace to see and root out all the evil we had previously allowed into our hearts, and which weighed heavily on us to the point of repentance. And with the new mind we no longer serve sin, but God's law, which is the fullness of His word, which the Spirit of Truth uses as a sword in our thought life. Keeping a pure heart is when we identify in our mind thoughts that have arisen, for whatever reason, which are contrary to God's word and will, and simply do not entertain them / dwell on them / accept them / cherish them or believe them. If we do one of the above, we allow them into our heart - a place of harboured thoughts within us. All thoughts have to pass through the control point of the mind. We can't always determine what thoughts come into our minds, and there is no condemnation for thoughts that do. BUT... in the mind, we can accept or reject thoughts. And we are held accountable for what we do there. It is when we sense a thought, impure, or full of anxiety, or self-seeking, etc., that wants to rob us of our peace, that our defences must go up and banish such a thought. "and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7 If we keep our hearts pure, we see God, yes, one day at the end, face to face... but also now. We see His hand, His goodness, His love in our lives. We are not blinded by impure thoughts, but see clearly!

If you’ve been to Jerusalem you may have seen the "Immovable Ladder". It’s a small wooden ladder on the facade of Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre, unmoved for over 300 years due to the "Status Quo," a strict, 1757-affirmed agreement. Placed by Armenians to clean windows, its presence signifies a rigid stalemate over control between Greek Orthodox, Armenian, Catholic, and other denominations. Significance: Symbolizes the intense, cautious tension between Christian denominations regarding property rights and coexistence in the Church. The Status Quo: An agreement, established in 1757 and confirmed in 1852, requiring that no part of the church (including the ladder) be moved or altered without the consensus of all involved denominations. Ownership: The ladder is associated with the Armenian Apostolic Patriarchate, but the surrounding facade is under contention with the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate. Brothers and Sisters let us serve God and not a form of godliness! Come out from man’s religious traditions that have nothing to do with Christ and His Church!
