I hate "affordability". I like "things cost too much".

I keep running into these extortion schemes (from a viewer's standpoint) where I can't watch my favorite teams play unless I subscribe to some service or other. I won't do that. Can't understand who thought that was a good idea--and why.

Once again, I seem to have gotten dropped into the wrong algorithm. The machines seem to have found out that I despise arguments ad hominem, and are filling up my feed with nasty obscene name-calling. I must have offended them somehow, and this is punishment.

Anybody remember when the Milwaukee Brewers and the Kansas City Blues were teams in a minor league called the American Association (of something--I forget)? When the Brewers won last night I felt like generations of baseball were flashing through my memory!

I think having a "Civics Bee" is a great idea. However, the finals on C-Span Wednesday night were a disaster. It seemed like no one had been diligent about the basic communication requirements, and when buzzers started failing it just fell apart. Still wondering what happened.

If the Sunday morning shows are going to feature partisans from the Left and the Right, how about adding some from the Center--if you can find any?

I seem to have fallen into an algorithm for people who like to say "Stupid." But I HATE the word stupid. It alienates the very people we hope will change their minds and vote like we do.

MO Congressman Vandiver, 19th century: " I come from a state that raises corn and cockleburrs and Democrats, and frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me. I am from Missouri; you have to show me." Missourians deserve better than what they have in the senate today!

jI hate to see polling and the "horserace" attitude taking over in the media. We have been very misled by polls in the past. Too much attention to the polling risks making voters feel like they don't need to vote. Then they are angry when their expectations are not met.

I am older than Mitch McConnell. It hurts a lot to hear people dismiss us as "worthless," "death sitting up," and other dehumanizing phrases. I firmly believe that if he's that unhealthy he shouldn't be in the Senate, but we are all still human and worthy of some respect.

I guess the algorithm took the weekend off. My "For You" is full of strangers.

Did you ever misplace something, and look all over for it, and finally find it, --only part of your brain doesn't get the message, and all day you keep thinking of other places the item might be?

The cable channels are off on a tear about where DJT should spend 9/11, and how he should be going to the NYC site. This is NOT Breaking News. Personally, I don't want DJT anywhere near the site of the twin towers. He just stains things.

I am all for bell-to-bell exclusion of cellphones in school. However, there is a downside I didn't think of right away. Many instances of bullying, violence, and other evils in school have been documented by students using their cellphones. Hate to lose that feature!

I seem to have fallen into an algorithm of irony and sarcasm. Hate that! In these crazy days, it's better for people to just say what they mean, not say the opposite of what they mean.

Unpopular questions: What does "releasing the Epstein files" mean? All the information about the innocent as well as the guilty? Does it mean all people mentioned, innocent as well as guilty, will lose the right to privacy and be fair game for scavenger journalists?

I see a widening gap between the rubber and the road. Extremists go by the rubber-- how they WISH things were. People in the middle are a mishmash. They must calculate what they can actually change and what is just gonna be wasting their breath. It's getting harder to do.

This site is getting nastier by the minute. Somebody should remind people that overused obscenities, snarky comments about being old, and judgements based on superficial appearance in general, are turnoffs for a lot of us. Enough with the Ad Hominem!

I usually LOVE This Week, with G. Stephanopolis and guests. But this week they talked so fast I couldn't understand them. I don't think it was their fault. I think it was some control room activity, like speeding a 33 1/3 vinyl record up to 78 rpm. Cut that out!
