Crazy how if you (apparently) have high levels of testosterone TERFs will call you a man but if you’re like okay then I’ll take some more and be a man they’re like NO YOU’RE NOT

Not having a driver’s license as someone in your 20s or 30s is climate change activism. Asking your friend for a ride is creating community, reinvigorating the global village. Be proud of yourself.
Extremely honored (and still shocked!) to have received the Otto-Hahn medal and award of the Max Planck Society! Was a real pleasure to attend the Annual meeting and meet all the other amazing awardees and hear about their science 🤩
Congratulations to all our wonderfully talented young researchers honoured with an Otto-Hahn-Medal today for their outstanding scientific contributions - we're so proud of you🥳! Keep paving the way for a bright future!🤗Group photo of the winners with @mpgpresident📸in Berlin☀️

Check out this thread about the last article from my PhD work, which we just published in Sience!
New #HESSpaper alert! We have caught an astrophysical jet in a "speed trap"! 💨💨
If you want to know more, watch the cool video that @scicomlab made for us and read the thread below!✨

The @HESStelescopes collaboration has mapped gamma-ray emission in a microquasar. They find that particles are accelerated within the jet, about 25 parsecs from the black hole. The results have implications for the origin of cosmic rays.

A question for #astrotwitter, #AcademicTwitter: is there a good way to start a narrative CV that isn't the usual "As a child I loved/was fascinated by..."? I don't think my interests as a child are really relevant to this application, but more direct formulations sound dry 🫤

Laura recently finished her PhD at MPIK in Heidelberg and is now a postdoc at the same institute. She studies the gamma-ray emission from the jets of microquasars and is also active in the H.E.S.S. Social Media activities ☄️
