Here's to Fred and Greg 32 years of love, 12 years of marriage, and hopefully many more beautiful decades together. May their story inspire generations of LGBTQ people to keep believing in a love that is safe, lasting, and unapologetically their own. ❤️🏳️🌈

In a quiet Chinese village, a woman heritage guardian weaves Chinese grass cloth, a 1,000-year-old textile art. From ramie to loom to a stunning dress, she keeps tradition alive with skill and grace.

James and Damion, 1942. 🖤
In a time when loving another man often meant living in silence, they found comfort in each other. This photograph captured more than a moment; it preserved a tenderness the world might never have understood.

There is being humble, and there is being humbled.
Humility can be a choice. It can be a quiet way of moving through the world without needing to be the loudest person in the room. Being humbled is different. It is what happens when a country, a law, a neighbour, or a night of fear reminds you how small one life can be made to feel, and how much courage it still takes to keep that life.
The fight for LGBTIQ+ human rights in Uganda humbles me. Not because dignity should ever have to be argued for. Dignity already belongs to us. What humbles me is that so many people I love, and so many I will never meet, keep choosing tenderness in a climate made to starve it. They keep finding each other. They keep breathing. They keep insisting that existence itself is not a crime.
Still, I am glad I am living.
On this, my birthday, I am not pretending the road is easy. I am naming the miracle that I am here to see another year. I marvel at the journey that brought me here. I am grateful for every step that did not break me. I am here to laugh, to rest, and to stand beside the people who made survival look like love.
If you have walked any part of this year with me, in public, in private, in prayer, or in silence, thank you. Your presence has been a gift. If you are fighting your own version of this fight, I see you. You are not alone.
May the next year be kinder than the last. May we keep choosing ourselves even when the world is hostile. May we live freely, joyfully, and long enough for humility to become something we choose, not something forced on us by law, fear, or discrimination.
Happy birthday to me. Happy remaining to all of us.
Episode 3 has a humor that will live rent free in my head. I’m glad the actors recreated.

Children don’t need a mother and a father. They need love, safety, and someone who shows up every day. ❤️🏳️🌈
