Two photos. One Ohio. One shows the political culture we have allowed ourselves to normalize: a sitting elected official posing with a life-size cutout of a woman running for Governor, giving her a thumbs-down as part of a political campaign built around ridiculing her. The other is from today. After an armed man forced his way toward Dr. Amy Acton at the Canfield Fair, knocking people to the ground and injuring attendees, Amy, a physician, stayed and helped care for one of the people who was hurt. The juxtaposition speaks for itself. We do not yet know the attacker’s motive, and I’m not going to claim we do. But after everything we have witnessed in this country, I refuse to accept the idea that the way political leaders talk about and portray one another doesn’t matter. We can disagree on policy without dehumanizing people. We can campaign without turning opponents into objects of contempt. And elected officials, especially, have a responsibility to model that. Political violence has already taken far too much from this country, from Republicans and Democrats alike. And women in public life face an especially ugly level of threats, harassment and intimidation. Today could have ended very differently. I’m grateful Dr. Acton is safe. I’m grateful she stayed to help someone who wasn’t. And I hope every one of us, regardless of party, takes a hard look at these two photographs and remembers that our humanity has to come before our politics. 1/2

This is how the President talks about Labor Day in America. Republicans do not want to take us forward, but drag us backward on worker’s rights and labor protections.

Pierre was a kid with a dream to study and play soccer in Ohio. The Trump administration treated him like a criminal and we will never get him back. The criminalization and humiliation of Ohioans from @DHSgov and @ICEgov needs to stop before we lose more young people.
Pierre Damas Bel of Springfield, Ohio, expressed feeling “shame and humiliation” at having to wear an ankle monitor. The college student died by suicide days later. ICE said it does not comment on the cause of death while an investigation is pending. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/spr…

Vivek Ramaswamy's personal bodyguard of several years just pled guilty to federal charges of trafficking fentanyl and meth through our Ohio communities. If Ramaswamy can’t exercise better judgment about the people he trusts with his own safety, how can Ohioans trust him with ours? Mr. Ramaswamy is not just a scam artist who is only out for himself — he repeatedly demonstrates his belief that the rules and laws we follow don’t apply to him. wvxu.org/2026-08-13/former-b…

Let's be super clear. All these billionaires aren't making big campaign donations to elect Vivek Ramaswamy to make sure you can afford food and rent. They want to extract as much profit from our state as possible and he's the guy who will make it happen.

Ramaswamy continues sharing his message to Ohioans struggling with rising costs: “if you don’t like that I’m a billionaire who hops on my private jet from Columbus to Akron, you’re jealous and un-American.”
Two very different visions for the future. Economic success vs. grievance. Upward mobility vs. stagnation. Ascent vs. decline.

Let's be clear on what Trump and Washington Republicans' Budget Bill did: ❌Raised prices for Ohio families ❌Ripped away Ohioans' healthcare ❌Gutted food assistance And Republicans will have to answer for it in November.

First, Vivek Ramaswamy said Amy Acton was "complaining" about being a victim of sexual abuse. Now, his party is making jokes about how she was homeless as a child. Ramaswamy failed at running for President, failed to be appointed to the Senate, was fired from DOGE after 69 days, and is failing at running for governor
🚩 “Since 2017, Acton hasn't worked for one employer for more than 18 months.” 1️⃣ Amy Acton admits to making 62 cents in 2025. She’s a physician who wants to be the CEO of Ohio. I guess she needs the money and the free housing. 2️⃣ She cannot hold a job according to this latest article from the Dispatch. 3️⃣ Questions remain about her alcohol use mixed with prescription drugs. This dangerous mix of booze and pills caused such a ruckus that the police came to her home only to find a mirror shattered in pieces. She can’t make a living, hold a job, and admitted to mixing alcohol and pills from job stress. And she wants to run Ohio?
