Another example of our mayor's misplaced priorities.
Here, the mayor laments the death of an illegal who attacked ICE agents, dragging one, which required him to be hospitalized.
Days ago, a crash-and-grab burglary crew killed an innocent motorist during the attempted getaway.
Yet not a pang of sympathy from the mayor for an innocent victim of a serious crime, nor a word of condolence for his family.
Brandon Johnson is a disgrace.
The chaos that unfolded yesterday in Franklin Park was an avoidable tragedy. Our prayers are with the family and friends of Silverio Villegas González as they grieve this loss.
We’ve said from the beginning that the presence of federal immigration agents on city streets will make life more dangerous for our neighbors, and for all. The seemingly unconstitutional actions yesterday incited dangerous conditions that put our communities at risk and ended in the loss of life.
No person should live in fear of unlawful arrest, detention, harassment or violence. We will continue to do everything in our power to protect the people of Chicago from federal overreach and unconstitutional actions.
