When a Member of Parliament raises a hand against an officer on duty, the matter often stops at a first information report. If an ordinary citizen did the same, a strict case would be filed the same day. This double standard raises a serious question about the law and about democracy in this country. The video is public. Even after the partition of India, the Muslim community living in the country hatched a conspiracy.

There is only one answer for such boys and girls. Do not stall them with the police, and do not wait on the courts. The government must take immediate and strict legal action. No one stands above the Prime Minister, the nation, or the law. No one granted them the right to hurl abuse and make indecent remarks against a constitutionally elected Prime Minister before one hundred and forty crore citizens. They may protest and dissent, but only with decent language and self-restraint. Conduct of this sort damages India’s standing across the world.
