Please note: We have suspended posting here (due to both the post-sale unpleasantness of using the site, & the owner himself), while keeping the account as an archive. Please visit our account at bsky.app/profile/offstagejob… for any offsite announcements about us.
After working hard tinkering with the internet machine (so many tubes), we will* be doing our "somehow now traditional" Thanksgiving posts exclusively on our BlueSky account.

Second, for those of you in Chicago Loop theatres, please note that the city has blocked at least some of the Loop bridges to vehicular & pedestrian traffic at the moment. While not fully "fortress Chicago," this does largely create a logjam of traffic unable to leave.
The upshot of this is: your matinee patrons may find it hard to leave (especially via car or bus), and your evening show patrons may find it hard to get to your show. Obviously, the extent of this is dependent on the duration of the march, & city government's response to it.
First, a reminder that this account is generally not updated or checked on anything resembling a regular basis. Please find us over on the bluer skies: bsky.app/profile/offstagejob…

The IATSE commends the reinstatement of Gwynne Wilcox to the National Labor Relations Board and welcomes the recent decision by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruling that President Trump’s removal was unlawful.
IATSE members—and working people nationwide—rely on a fair and functional NLRB to enforce labor laws and ensure their collective bargaining agreements are upheld.
We commend Member Wilcox for her dedication to this mission and for standing firm in the face of an unprecedented illegal removal. iatse.net/iatse-commends-rei…

Unions just did more in a day to protect us than our elected officials have done in years. Good work @DeptOfWorkers!
Chicago area folks: PLEASE be careful driving or even walking tonight. Roads are slick in general, & side streets & sidewalks that haven’t been salted are as slippery as a freshly smoothed ice rink. I was sliding just trying to parallel park.
#TheatreHoroscope Capricorn: It's just blue gel. It's not "pressed Smurf," and repeating just makes it less funny. Especially when half of the electricians aren't old enough to know what the hell a Smurf is.
#TheatreHoroscope Sagittarius: If it makes you feel any better, that scene shift you hate doing is the only thing the audience will remember about this show.
A reminder that I now primarily use the bluer skies for any social media posting about OffStageJobs or entertainment work, as it is viewable to the public without an account (unlike Twitter/X).

Also, at least for the time being, any future #TheatreHoroscope posts not already scheduled will only post on the BlueSky account (they will still be added to the web page at staging.offstagejobs.com/the… ).
