The Battle of Britain memorial lies desecrated in London. The wreaths honouring those who gave and risked their lives for freedom and to save this country from the Nazi jackboot are strewn at its base. Pro-Palestinian protestors were arrested for this outrage, but the sickness goes much deeper. We have allowed foreign ideologies and causes to infect our society and politics. They seek to challenge all that we once held dear and which defined us as a people and a nation, and to overturn it for their twisted purposes. Who will stop them? It won’t be this Government, which fears and craves the support of the worst elements in our society in equal measure. But it will be the British people - the real British people, not the flotsam and jetsam that have been allowed to masquerade among us - who still have the heart and courage to know that the future is ours if we still want it to be.
