Also, I do want to a big shoutout to the @THORChain team: they truly care about the users and the network. They worked tirelessly to deliver the slippage limit feature quickly and addressed our concerns promptly. They reimbursed the affected users suffering from bad quotes and slippage quickly and kept us in the loop.
To be honest it's not easy. I had people internally and externally advising us to abandon Thornchain given the potential risks. But I knew it will be fatal and would crush the project.
They took responsibility, worked with us to put users assets' safety first, and persevered through a crisis in all means - regardless of the results, definitely deserves respect.
Circle back on #BTC and other supported cross-chain swap since the Thornchain crisis:
1. The team wired up our existing partner @Rango's solutions as alternatives, avoid single point of failure. Why choose Rango? It's the fastest for us to implement. It's going through the last bit of testing and will be live.
2. Cross-chain swaps for #BTC, #DOGE, #THOR, #LTC, #COSMOS, and #BCH have been migrated from the frontend to the backend. This allows us to better monitor and control service availability during crises to protect users' funds safety.
3. Enabled slippage limits for @THORChain to prevent bad quotes that could negatively impact users.
I do want to give a shoutout to our swap team (3-4 ppl): they worked throughout the weekends to get these up ASAP in case crisis happen. 🫡
