FORT WORTH—A single mother fatally shot and killed a teenager that was breaking through her 8 year old daughter’s window at 3am on December 14th. Aleah Wallace, mother to four daughters, purchased a gun after four attempted burglaries on her home, two of which happened less than 24 hours prior to the shooting. The home invader, 14 year old Devin Baker, died on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. Wallace said she had no idea the home invader was 14. All she knew was that someone was entering her daughter’s window and she started shooting out of fear. Now she’s being evicted because the apartment managers say they have a ‘no gun’ policy, even though there are no signs posted and no legislation that says she can’t be armed. (No charges have been filed as of yet, but the shooting is expected to be reviewed by a grand jury.) Predictably, the teen’s mother says he was a good son that had dreams of starting a clothing line.
