This was a lot of fun to do - I learned a great deal about how the COP works and several other things besides!
🎙️New OceanICU podcast: Conversations with Scientists! 👩🏽🔬
Tune into the first episode➡️Demystifying the COP - with @OceanRics (@NORCEresearch ) & Dr. @TosteTanhua (@GEOMAR_en) ocean-icu.eu/podcasts/podcas…

This paper was a long time in the making but I remember the cruise vividly! Heres a nice niews and views about the main result.

I've spent a lot of time on ships and this is a great overview
How does ship-based #hydrography help #scientists understand #climate change? What are the nuts & bolts of this important #ocean observation system & how does it benefit society? Answers & more here: eurogo-ship.eu/wp-content/up…

This is a pretty important @Oceanicu_carbon paper on surface ocean CO2 uptake nature.com/articles/s41561-0…
Just published today! Many Thnaks to Jack in leading this work

The Global C Budget was just published today - a key activity that informs policy formulation. Heres a few ocean related highlights
1/n
We have just published the new @gcarbonproject Global Carbon Budget, 2024.
It contains a mix of bad news and some less bad news. The latter signals some progress, albeit slow, towards decarbonizing the global economy.
essd.copernicus.org/preprint…
All Figures from globalcarbonbudget.org/gcb-2… - an incredible treasure trove of information. The Ocean continues to be a major player in the Global C Cycle, taking up about 25% of the CO2 we emit to the atmosphere.
Heres a link to the video of this panel.
One thing I found myself wanting to know more about is how biodiversity information informs the COP process

The COP is a crucial event in the climate calendar, and this year with the reported decline in the land carbon sink the ocean is centre stage. Join us tomorrow to discuss some of the key ocean carbon issues that we need to consider going forward
With our webinar at the Virtual Ocean Pavillion in COP29, OceanICU is putting Ocean carbon & its intersection with policy & international treaties like BBNJ in the spotlight! Interested in learning more about this important topic? Register today for Free! ocean-icu.eu/webinars/oceani…
Delighted to be participating in #COP29 to present the role of the ocean in the climate change debate. The nexus of biodiversity, industry and Climate is crucial
