Fraud has victims. It steals jobs. It steals wages. It steals opportunity. And too often, the victim is the American worker. And that's why @Sonderling47 and I are in the fight with @WHFraudTF.

Lawrence Joel was an Army medic who got shot twice and kept crawling through a 24 hour battle, treating wounded paratroopers until his hands were steady enough only because he had injected himself with morphine to kill the pain. He was the first medic to earn the Medal of Honor in Vietnam, and the first living Black American to receive it since 1898. He came up the hard way. Born in 1928 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he was the third of sixteen children, and his family was so poor that from the age of eight he was raised by neighbors. He joined the Merchant Marine, then the Army, and made a career of it, serving in Korea before Vietnam. On November 8, 1965, Joel was a medic with the 173rd Airborne, out on Operation Hump in War Zone D near Bien Hoa, when his battalion walked into a Viet Cong ambush and was outnumbered roughly six to one. The opening blast killed or wounded nearly every man in the lead squad. Joel ignored orders to stay down and went to work. He was shot in the leg early on. He bandaged his own wound, shot himself up with morphine so he could keep moving, and kept going. Then he was shot a second time, with a bullet lodged in his thigh, and still he dragged himself from man to man. When he ran out of supplies, he hobbled across the battlefield on a makeshift crutch to get more while another soldier ran ahead firing to cover him. He saved one man with a sucking chest wound by sealing it with a plastic bag. Through all of it he kept shouting encouragement to the wounded and dying around him, holding plasma bottles high while bullets kicked up the dirt. By the end of a battle that lasted over 24 hours, Joel had personally treated dozens of men. President Johnson gave him the Medal of Honor on the White House lawn in 1967, and his hometown of Winston-Salem threw him the biggest parade in the city's history, the first it had ever held for a single person. The city's coliseum carries his name to this day. A dirt poor kid raised by neighbors who grew up to crawl through hell on a shattered leg so that other men's children would come home.

A Texas mail carrier learned that a dog he had befriended on his old delivery route was waiting in an animal shelter after his owner died. Before the shelter opened, he was already there to adopt him. USPS letter carrier Ian Burke had first met Floyd while delivering mail to the home of Ken Meyer, a Vietnam veteran who used a wheelchair, in Denton, Texas. Floyd was Ken’s service dog, and he made quite an impression on the mailman. During their first encounter, he slipped out through the door and charged toward Ian like an excited puppy. Over time, Ian got to know both Ken and Floyd. For about a year and a half, he enjoyed stopping by their home, delivering the mail and checking in on them. Then his route changed. Another carrier took over, and Ian’s regular visits came to an end. In May 2025, Ken passed away. Floyd was surrendered to the City of Denton Animal Shelter, leaving the dog who had been his companion in need of a new home. Over Memorial Day weekend, Ian heard a coworker talking about a dog at the shelter. The description sounded familiar. He asked whether the dog was Floyd. When the answer was yes, Ian knew he wanted to bring him home. He arrived at approximately 9:50 a.m., ten minutes before the shelter opened, to make sure he was first in line. Floyd wouldn’t have to start over with someone who knew nothing about him. Waiting for him was the mailman who had known him since he was a puppy. That day, Ian adopted Floyd. He later explained that this was a dog his former customer had loved and cherished. Taking care of him meant something personal. “I kind of felt responsible to take care of him,” Ian said. He believed Ken would be pleased to know that his former mailman was giving Floyd a good home. In a later photograph shared by USPS, Floyd sat on Ian’s lap, settled into the life they now shared. Once, Ian had been someone who stopped by and left. Now he was the person Floyd stayed with. Ken’s love for his dog had been part of what Ian remembered about his old route. And after Ken was gone, Ian made sure that dog still had someone to come home to ♥️🐾

LCpl. Abigail Rodriguezpabon is a pay clerk at Quantico. When she came across a multi-vehicle crash, she stopped, checked on the victims, and used her belt as a makeshift tourniquet for an injured passenger. She stayed until emergency responders evacuated everyone. Then she went to the hospital to check on the people she’d helped. It doesn't matter what your MOS is, anyone can make a difference.

WE DON'T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS! An illegal immigrant has been charged after TWO PEOPLE WERE SH*T at a Virginia shopping plaza. ⠀ Loudoun County deputies arrested Jose Otero Alveranga, 25, in Herndon on October 5, one day after the attack. He is being held WITHOUT BOND at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. ⠀ Deputies responded just after 2 a.m. on October 4 to the 46000 block of Community Plaza in Sterling. The suspect and victims were gone when officers arrived, but investigators later located both wounded victims at a hospital. ⠀ Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Detectives linked Alveranga to the incident and tracked him down in Herndon. ⠀ The sheriff’s office says the felony case includes an allegation that he possessed a f*rearm while in the country illegally. The investigation remains active. ⠀ Deputies did their job and put the suspect in custody. The victims now deserve a thorough prosecution, and any proven violations of criminal and immigration law should carry consequences. ⠀ Anyone with information can contact Loudoun County Crime Solvers anonymously at 703-777-1919. ⠀ #Virginia #LoudounCounty

THIS IS INSANE: Outlets are reporting that a black teen now charged in the k*lling of a white newlywed Coast Guard pilot was initially released WITHOUT POSTING BAIL after an earlier police chase. Officers recovered a revolver during that arrest that investigators later matched to the fatal sh*oting. Isaiah Altre Bolar, 18, was released on August 26 in the police-eluding case, before he was charged with m*rder. Prosecutors had requested $20,000 bail but said investigators had not yet informed them of a possible connection to the k*lling. The victim, Lt. Connor Scott Overstreet, 29, was a rescue helicopter pilot stationed at Air Station Ventura in California. He was in Washington for work and training. Just before 12:45 a.m. on August 23, Overstreet was riding Lime scooters with two friends in Skyway when occupants of a stolen Toyota Prius yelled at them. After an exchange of words, the Prius made a U-turn and stopped. Overstreet approached the passenger window, and someone inside fired a single sh*t into his chest. The car fled, and he was pronounced de*d at the scene. On August 25, Kent police located the same Prius through a Flock camera. Bolar allegedly led officers on a chase reaching 100 mph before a spike strip stopped the car. During the pursuit, Bolar allegedly shoved a backpack into his passenger’s chest and said, “Take this.” The passenger discarded it in a trash can. Officers recovered a Ruger .357 revolver, Bolar’s temporary driver’s permit, a balaclava, Lysol wipes and a family photo. The court released Bolar on personal recognizance the following day. Cellphone records later placed a phone associated with Bolar near the sh*oting scene. On September 28, the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab confirmed the bullet recovered from Overstreet had been fired from the revolver. King County detectives and the TAC 30 SWAT team arrested Bolar again on October 1 at a Covington home. He now faces second-degree m*rder with a firearm enhancement, pleaded not guilty on October 7, and NOW he finally is being held on $3 million bail. Prosecutors allege he either fired the fatal sh*t or assisted or encouraged the person who did. They say he faces roughly 16 to more than 24 years if convicted. #Skyway #Washington

This is exactly why parents lose trust in school boards. Albemarle County police say former Hollymead principal Joe McCauley, Deputy HR chief Brodie Downs, and Title IX coordinator Erin Stone were each indicted on three counts of failing to report child abuse under Virginia's mandatory reporter law. Kids do not get a second childhood when adults protect the chain of command instead of calling CPS. As a dad of two boys in Polk, I want every administrator who buries a report fired and charged. Would you keep a school board that let that culture grow?

BIG SCANDAL UNFOLDING IN VIRGINIA SCHOOLS Parents in Albemarle County Schools BLAST school board after MULTIPLE district officials were arrested for failing to report the s*xual assault of children. "The school board that oversaw this toxic culture cannot be the school board that fixes it." Something is very rotten at @k12albemarle!
