📸Today in Brussels, FRS concluded a two-day closed-door seminar on EU defence diplomacy and the Indo-Pacific. Held on 23-24 September, “Speaking with One Voice? EU Defense Diplomacy and the Indo-Pacific” brought together around 40 experts, practitioners, diplomats, policymakers from EU institutions and Member States, and representatives of the research community. 🌏 Discussions focused on the future of EU Security & Defense Partnerships in the Indo-Pacific, exploring how the EU and its Member States can strengthen coordination, enhance the coherence of their approaches and develop more effective forms of engagement with partners in the region. 🎙️ The seminar opened with a keynote speech by @david_cvach, Deputy Secretary General for Peace, Security and Defense at the European External Action Service (@eu_eeas). FRS researchers also contributed to the discussions, with Thibault Fournol, Research Fellow and Coordinator the @ObsIndoPacific and Dr @VNiquet, Senior Research Fellow and Director of the @ObsIndoPacific. 💬 Through plenary discussions, brainstorming sessions and scenario-based exercises, participants exchanged perspectives and worked towards practical recommendations on security cooperation, defense diplomacy and regional partnerships. 🤝 This seminar was the seventh event organised within the framework of the @ObsIndoPacific, an initiative launched in 2023 by the @Armees_Gouv and coordinated by FRS in collaboration with @i_montaigneEN, @ecfr, @sciencespo, @Inalco and @IFRI_. #IndoPacific #EuropeanUnion #DefenceDiplomacy #Security #FNIPPR #FRS
