Britain apologised for slavery but refused reparations. Why were slave owners compensated while the enslaved received nothing? And why did payments continue until 2015? This week on
@blackpaperpod, we examine apology, accountability and repair.

Marty has run the New York City Marathon every year since 1980 and finished his 43rd tonight as the last man across the line. He said it would be his final one his mind is still willing, but his body isn’t.
A remarkable way to end the streak. Congratulations on 43 NYC Marathons, Marty. ❤️
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The runner’s name is James Thomas, not Marty. The person who filmed and spoke with him (@MickmickNYC) confirmed this. He is not the 90-year-old Marty Granoff (who ran his 6th NYC Marathon in 2026, last previously in 1983).

She’s correct. The APC’s strategy is hopelessness and it’s easy to wield it because they HAVE put us in a (seemingly) hopeless situation. But we must rise above it. 2027 #TinubuMustGo
It hurt me just listening to this. I hope there are people out there who can REALLY help her. This was violating then they’re bullying her on top?
What is wrong with people in this country ffs?!
I’ve been asked to publicly apologise and say I lied about my own experience. I can’t do that, because it isn’t true.
In this video, I explain what was agreed, what happened during my spa session at New Image Makeover Spa, and what followed, and I show you the messages, screenshots and evidence so you can judge for yourself.
I tried to resolve this privately. I paid for the services, asked for my videos to be deleted, and asked for written confirmation. Now I’ve received a solicitor’s letter, and I can’t afford legal representation.

Please don’t attack anyone. I’m not asking for a social media fight. I’m asking for a fair chance to get proper advice and defend myself the right way.
To fellow creators: get agreements in writing, ask about recording before you accept a collaboration, and document anything that makes you uncomfortable.
Thank you for listening. ❤️

Was looking forward to a soft Sunday, here comes the marriage inquiry committee. Said I don’t want. They said you must want. In Igbo, they said, You were borned and you will borned.
I laughed. They’re lucky I love them.

Y’all were calling him all kinds of fraud yesterday bc he didn’t respond immediately or act the way you wanted him to. Meanwhile, he was working BTS to make sure Jarvits’ mother could travel to the U.S. to say goodbye to her son. Sometimes, it is best to just be freaking normal!
The murder of a child is a pain no parent should have to endure, let alone from thousands of miles away.
Javits Frimpong’s mother deserves to say goodbye to her son in person. I just got off the phone with President Trump and he has agreed to grant her visa immediately.
All of New York City is mourning this tragedy.
