Ethiopia believes in the equitable and reasonable utilization of transboundary waters and holds that any transboundary water management framework must recognize Ethiopia's position as the source of the Blue Nile. For Ethiopia, water is a bridge to cooperation, and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is its clearest expression. Equally, Ethiopia's geographical and historical connection to the Red Sea makes its role in any regional maritime and security dialogue a natural one. Guided by peace, mutual respect and good neighbourliness, Ethiopia looks forward to working with its partners towards a stable, prosperous and connected region.
