So sad to see the majestic oak tree named after @JuliaBradbury fenced off and due to be felled by @AmazonUK @amazon @wykeland permission granted by @East_Riding in the new year. I hoped they would agree to at least try to move it to give it a chance rather than just fell it.

Sometimes you've got to just stop and hug a tree! Our Love Your River Stour team and their volunteers couldn't help but show their appreciation whilst measuring the circumference of oak trees at Corngreaves Nature Reserve to estimate their age - this tree was 300-350 years old!

The old weathered, sawn stump of an oak branch is a reminder of a time when this rainforest was exploited for firewood, stakes, and other uses. For almost 15 years now, it has been left just for nature.
Ireland needs FAR more of this.
