It never ceases to amaze me how a seemingly simple step to get stakeholder’s aligned is often missed leading to highly dysfunctional projects where costs often blow out and business outcomes not achieved. Design by committee where everyone is responsible for the solution ultimately means nobody takes responsibility. Don’t make this mistake or let misalignment go unaddressed. Recording an exciting episode of @OWAArchitect this week. #CIO & #CTO level discussion which should not be missed.

Just saw a LinkedIn comment discussing NFS being a performance issue with VMware environments, referring to a lack of scalability. In my opinion, this isn’t true. As with any storage/protocol, the architecture & implementation are more often than not the issue when it comes to performance, not the protocol. Storage controllers and poorly designed and configured VMs and applications are the far more common issues. FC, iSCSI, NFS etc all can deliver highly resilient and performant solutions when combined with the right architecture and components. If you have a properly designed environment and the storage protocol is a genuine bottleneck, that would be an amazing problem to have as your environment would be far superior to 99.999% of environments globally. #Broadcom #VMware #Storage #vExpert
